Game We Like: Zombocalypse

Another import from Armor Games. It would not be a stretch to say that zombies are somehow involved.

Play it right here, right now.

I'm Chocolaty Smurf, the one THE MAN doesn't want you to know about....... Okay, that's not true. I'm noobull, Eagleheart HELPeR. Unmasked by LordLionO, aka fire-flash

This game is pretty fun!  It could use a bit more variety in the zombies, but it's fun.  :smileyhappy:

I've gotten a pretty good ways through the game so far...Rank 18 and 17 Achievements unlocked.  I have yet to kill 2,000 zombies in one play (let alone 3,000), and I still can't get Untouchable III, because at some point one of the following is going to happen:

• I'm stuck with the measly machete while four or six of those speedy blue buggers are converging on me from both sides.

• I'm using a weapon with a slow reload (like the shotgun or the sniper gun) while I'm getting rushed by several speedy blue buggers.

• I pick up the minigun right as a speedy blue bugger gets toe to toe with me, and I can't get him off without either dropping the minigun or burning through my entire belt.  And I have the upgraded minigun, so the latter takes a while.

It always comes down to those Blue Speedies (or whatever their actual official name is).  One tiny scratch from one of those bastiches is enough to wreck my chance at picking up Untouchable III.  I just had a Blue Speedy scratch me while I was at 488 kills.  Ticked me right off.  :smileytongue:

But hey, it's still a fun game.  I can't wait to see what the sixth head is.  :smileyhappy:

Hey I've ascended and everything but I noticed that there was a place where you could put cheat codes in. I was wanting to know if you or anyone else knew of any. Hook a brother up lol

Life is but a dream........

This one is addictive, not so much as HR for me, but still

The whole trick to this seems to be getting comfortable with ANY of the weps (machete included) and using their ammo as sparingly as possible (single shot mode, no automatic) until a better or at least equally good wep (depending on your situation) arises.  Be OK with running out of ammo and using the machete, get the timing of the swing down, and in extreme cases this should be the only wep you use on full-auto.  It's not a bad wep in close quarters, and does serious damage if wielded well.

NEVER stop moving, even if it's inch by inch.  Clear the screen in one direction (unless there's a big yellow guy and your wep is weak) all the way to it's end, then go back the other way clearing as you go, keeping a sniper mentality (one bullet, one shot, one kill, use as little ammo as you can to kill as many as possible).  Sometimes you get boned and get stuck with a handgun in a crowd, fire away on both sides till it's empty,  swing away with the machete till a wep appears, and if necessary,  dash through a crowd to a clearing to use it.  At 1/2-full health, a few crowd hits is manageable.

What you want to love, in order:

Mini-gun: Slows you down, but cuts down crowds like they were zombutter. WILL clear to screens edge, even clears past that.  If a blue gets too close, your chances of shaking him with this wep are slim unless you're fast with a turnaround shot, use that missle/airstrike/helicopter gun and save your ammo while it's firing.  Again, stay away from full-auto, tap the spacebar and fire bursts.

God's hand:  If you've ascended, meet your new best friend.  Upgraded machete, limited uses, but everything it touches dies.

Flamethrower: Torch a crowd in a single pulse.  Damage seems to be distributed when multiple yellows are in the line of fire, may require additional pulses.  DO NOT use with the button held down, as fuel goes fast.  Single burst, move forward till you're almost touching the lead zombie in the next crowd, pulse it once, repeat.

MFG: Clears everything in a single direction, offscreen included.  Slows you down like the mini gun, and is only effective from it's tip forward.  It's basically a 5 shot reset button,  2 shots in one direction, 3 in another (alternating sides), then pray for a good wep to drop.

Riot shield: If the MFG is a reset button, this is pause.  Wield it only when something is close enough to hit, or solid on to push a crowd back from a crate.  Keep a close eye on ammo, when it's gone, it can be big trouble if you're not ready.

Assault rifle: Large magazine, capable of mini gun damage with 2X damage power up, and a lead shield on full auto.  I'd take anything above over it, but it's still a good one.

Shotgun: Only this low because it's situational.  Capable of taking out multiple targets, or heavily damaging one.  Use like the Flamethrower, get as close as you can to the leader of the crowd and buck off.  Reload time is a nightmare when blues get close, but a short muzzle gives it close fire capability.

Sniper Gun: Can be a pain, or a life saver.  Capable of shooting targets off screen, hits multiple targets in a single shot, and packs a punch on anything it hits. Reload time like the shotgun, but no close range kills.  Targets must be tip or further away to take damage, so if there's a crowd, keep it on automatic fire and RUN, something better should pop up soon, and your clearing a hole in front of you.

Dual pistols: Gotta have one to get two, but two beats one any day of the week and twice on Sunday.  Ammo expends faster than you think, but hard hitting to a single target.  Full auto can soften a crowd nicely, and the shortest attack range save for the machete

Pistol: Either you see another pistol close by, you know you can expend the ammo in time to get the wep next to it too, or you've run out of options.  Strong on single targets, but won't last long.  Avoid if possible, the machete kills faster.

Machete: Last because it should be.  A VERY efficient weapon that hits multiple, close quarters targets simultaneously, medium reload time.  You can go a long time with just this, but try not to, having any weapon is marginally better than this unless they're right on top of you.  Useful for clearing a hole to use your next weapon in.  Get comfy with it, you never know when you'll need it, or when for that matter.

Final notes:

If you don't have both martyr trophies and the ALL of the machete kill trophies, work on em.  Learning to deal with the bare minimum reduces panic later, and results in higher scores immediately.    If you complete these two trophies, the rest will unlock soon, I promise.

Make sure to fire evenly on both sides when they're starting to close in.  Taking down one side will only trap you in a corner, buying time in the middle of the area gives you the best chance to get a better wep/a health crate/2X damage.

If you're about to switch weapons, fire off all the ammo you can from your old one and THEN pick up a new one.  Every kill counts, and so does every bullet.  Expending the ammo from one will save ammo in the next.

Health crates and 2X damage crates do not go away if you don't pick them up.  Use the health crates only at 50% health or lower, and use the 2X crates only when you have the assault rifle/sniper gun/pistol/dual pistol/shotgun.

To extend your kill combo, work all the way to one side, pause, shoot the next zombies coming on screen from that end till the other side has enemies, then work back to other end. Repeat.

Avoid trading down the wep list, trade up when possible. In a pinch, anything is better than nothing though

Tips:

The minigun can ALWAYS score a kill, it reaches officered for a kill almost every time you fire it at the edge of the screen, same for the sniper gun.

The minigun's slow, waddling pace is a GOOD thing, If fired in short bursts one shot at a time WHILE moving forward, it's almost impossible to lose your kill combo as long as you have a bullet left, as one side of zombies will regenerate by the time you reach the other.

Get the hang of fast switching. A fast switch is grabbing a wep crate, firing off a shot, and then picking up another crate near by. Useful for getting to the gun you want, and saves ammo in the gun you really wanted (one may not seem like much, but missing one can get you killed.) When you do all three actions as fast as you can, it looks action-movie cool.

Get used to slow switching. Slow switching is standing on top of a wep crate that you want, using up all your ammo from that spot, then picking up the new wep when its' crate is flashing or you're out of ammo. Sometimes the game glitches if you fire off your last shot and immediately pick up a new crate, giving you only your machete. Pick it up after you're empty, or leave a few shots behind. Especially useful with sniper gun, one of the few times the sniper is useful at 300+ zombies. Also works well with the minigun.

Never leave a crate matching your current wep behind (aka: no clip left behind). The only exception is to grab a near by crate of a different type for situational purposes (grabbing a shotgun to make a hole in a crowd) then grabbing your original wep from the second crate. If possible, do a slow switch on the new clip. If not, grab it and reload on the fly.

Learn how long a crate will stay before disappearing, moreover what that time FEELS like. You know a side of the screen is coming up soon, but there's a new wep you want; run to the side, slaying everything, run back and grab crate before it's last flash. (wep crates stay for about 15 secs after they hit the ground)

You just racked up a 600+ kill combo, but lost it due to a lack of zombies. First things first, run and run and run till you have nowhere to run anymore, then pop the chopper attack. Use the time to find a better wep, paint your toenails, whatever. The point is 100 more kills will stack up fast, and it will end any combo you have going to use it. Might as well pop it at zero and get your next 50 kills for free.

Said it last time,I'll say it again.... Get comfortable with your machete. Using it well is the difference between achievement-level total kills, and total kills over 10k. Run a few games from start until half health using only your machete (no picking up crates, except 2x damage), by then a health crate will have dropped, and you can refill to full and resume multi-wep annihilation. Getting the Commando achievements done is a good start, but try racking up 1k+ before you grab another wep/health crate .You'll thank me when you're 7k kills deep and some fancy sword work saves your run.

One more bit about the machete. If you're only being attacked from one side, standing still and swinging it makes you almost invincible. Running a short distance one way, swinging the machete, and then running back a short distance and swinging as it's next natural (automatic) swing comes down is trickier, but almost as invincible from both sides when done right. It may be weak, but it at least has a knockback effect good for making holes.

For the martyr achievements, let the first zombie in your game flail on you till the screen gets bloody, then smash 200 zombies before you heal. It's easier than it sounds. BONUS: instead of finding a health crate when you hit 200 kills, pop your killcombo attack and get the suicide bomber achievement.....Then die. Save the run if you want, but most often, that which starts bad stays that way.

Know from the start what you want from your run: high killcombo's, or high total. Play accordingly. Getting 800+ killcombos requires a different style/weapon type than getting 10k total kills. Roll the dice for killcombos, play it safe for total.

NEVER grab a health crate if your health if 51% or better if you can help it. They give half or a bit better back when you pick em up, don't waste any. Exceptions are early on (<700 zombies killed total), when with just the right gun, you can stay safe and untouched till the next drops.

In the same vein, don't waste a 2x damage crate on a minigun/flamethrower/godshand/mfg/yougettingthepont?  Save it for a time when all you see is an assault rifle...but you REALLY wanted a minigun, whenever you have a riot shield and a thick crowd, or theres 5 yellow guys lumbering at you and your silly little shotgun......

If you stuck around this long, here's somethin nice for your time:

Hitting the shift key will pause the game (which by the way, doesn't mess up your killcombo, but CAN mess with the wep crates around you...weird right?). Nothing much on the pause menu..or is there?? Click on the red skull in the upper right corner and you'll get a cheat screen to work with. Remove or overwrite the existing words with the following:
