As a matter of trivia, Jenny's number from that song has been banned from use by phone companies because of its popularity in that song. Customers who had the number were getting prank called too much. That's not saying it's ok to post it or anything, just saying that it's no longer in use as a number.

Not completely true.  There was one woman in the New York/New Jersey area that had it and wanted to keep it when she moved.  This was a few years ago and don't remember the outcome of the story.

I have a question about the organization of character elimination threads. I am planning to do a elimination in one of the show folders for just one month in the summer.

My question is: Am I allowed to make two threads relating to one elimination? The reason why I would do this is one thread would be used as a nomination thread. Characters who are nominated the most would qualify for the "tournament", which would have characters facing off one on one with other characters. At that moment, the second thread would be made for users to vote their characters during this "tournament".

I felt that I needed to ask this question because I remembered hearing in the past how two or more threads for these games weren't allowed and etc. I also wanted to ask this now so that I understand more clearly about what are the things I'm allowed to do and the things I'm not allowed to do, as I'm planning the event this summer.

What you are describing has been done before, both as a single thread and as a 'discussion' thread followed by the actual game.  I've never seen a problem happen with either.

lawyers don't understand "meme". 

Think of it this way, if a random lawyer, or a random lawyer's mom logged on and saw a post, would they be able to figure out that the post was a joke or not?

If not, further communication is required w/the user in question.  If so, then it's not an issue.

A lone post that just states "I'm 12" means that, and odds are will be treated as such without any further context than that.

Then there are other factors like "I have the mind of a 12 year old" isn't the same as flat out stating "I'm 12", for example.

Age and contact information are basically the hotbutton issues in terms of moderation.  Those are the "no sense of humor" issues I guess you could call them.

The only problem generally with elims would be if for some reason the folder became overrun with them to the point the users in the folder started to complain.  In which case we would shut a few of them down prolly.

But that sort of thing hasn't happened that I know of for quite a long time, like it's been years I think since I've heard about that being any sort of problem.

but the kudos are getting out of control. I dont know if it is turning into a game of who can give the most kudos or what.

Like.... people getting 100 kudos in a day (13 minutes later check out the #s) or over 400 in a week.
