I was ambushed on March 22, 2008. It was a chill afternoon so I was a little on the sluggish side otherwise he totally wouldn't have been able to grab my ankle.

I don't think I'm the 'oldest' but at least this is a starting point if anyone else can manage to read their tracking tag.

I know I'm not the oldest for that (Dec. 14 will be my 1 yr since) but I am the youngest registered date wise (only been on the boards for 2 years)

yeah it wasn't quite as easily tracked as with the mods.  They just dumped dozens of helpers into the system at once basically.

True story. Right down to the about the show offerings.  I was surprised, honored, and a little freaked out by being asked to be in any position past 'asshat-in-training' on the boards but at the same time I couldn't in due consciousness accept anything to do with those shows, it wouldn't be fair to the actual fans to have an anti- in a position of anything for those things. It would be like putting Uncle Ruckus in charge of the Boondocks folder except less entertaining. It would be more like poison ivy enema entertaining. But I wasn't thrown to the zombies after all, instead I was asked what [as] shows I did watch [anything but the LA, and will give any anime a chance] and was then originally sharpie-tattooed for Boondocks, Code Geass, and Robot Chicken. Enough people were eventually tranc'd and dragged behind-the-scenes though that they decided to stick with a max of two shows per HELPeR creatures for then to see how things go so I stuck with one Anime and one Comedy. Ah, balance. Old School.

I accidesntally hijacked this account a couple years ago (Sept. 2008). Which I guess was a common bug at the time.

That reg. date and the first like 3 posts on the account weren't really mine.

Yeah, because it just happened like a month ago.

Got a really nice PM from Humbug (which I guess is the new-wave style of HELPeR-initiation), responded, went to work, and came home to my lovely blue name.

It made what was otherwise a pretty crappy day into a pretty nice night. I'd really wanted to be a HELPeR, because I really am incredibly fond of this site and I really wanted to be a bigger part of it, you know? It's like I got to be recognized as both an active member of the community and a fan of [as]'s shows.

And I get to make cool headers and stuff.

And, the other HELPeRs are all really cool people, so I'm glad I get to be one of 'em.

I actually asked CeeJ about it via PM not long after I registered and stuff. asked him if I could get those posts deleted and the reg. date changed so it would be accurate, and he said there was nothing he could do.

And I mean, I've mentioned my false reg. date a buhmillion times and haven't gotten banned yet.

So I figured they just let me keep it, for whatever reason.

Drew originally PMed me about being a HELPeR for Blood+. Which... while I thought the idea of helping edit wikis and stuff was cool, I would not say that was one of my favorite shows on the block. I still have no idea why he pegged me for that show, unless he saw me fangirling Hagi all over the place or something. So I mentioned my reservations and he asked me what I'd prefer, and I went with FMA since that was my favorite Action show that we still had the rights for.

drew one day asked me "so name your top 3 shows perferable anime ones" and my first reaction was "WAIT WHY IS DREWZEH ASKING ME THIS HUH!?!?!?!?!?" but i was like uhhh strange but maybe hes just bored so i told him my top 3 animes on [as] (big o, paranoia agent, and eureka seven) and then he PMd me back asking if i was interested in being a helper for big o. in which my reation was "ooooh so THATS why he asked" then it was "HOMGAH YES OKEH IDK WUT A HELPER IS BUT OKEH!!!!" so i told him yes id love to and he made me one. i think iwas ona the first helpers as i rmember when everyone was getting assigned and meeting each other.

A lot non-internet stuff happened.  It keeps heppening.  Henceforth, my posting on the boards has declined over the last couple of years.  I don't wacth the action block anymore, so I don't have much to contribute to Action Discussion.  Although, I guess that issue doesn't stop most people from posting in that folder.

I have the PM from the Rankbot congratulating me on ranking to 'HELPeR'. I do not have any PM from Humbug to that effect since I'm one of the pre-Bug Creatures. Still have the one from DrewId somewhere though.

I think it was :

Helpful Electronic Less Prominent Robots, or some similar thing. It was in the Announcement made at that time in the Announcements board and in a Welcome thread in General adultswim.com discussion [which no longer officially exists so I've been using it as a storage closet instead].
