simply log into it using your user name and pass word.. not your email ..then you can see what email account it is linked to on your profile page

Hello. Just a question as I casually look around here.

Seeing the promotion of social media accounts of, for example, Adult Swim, and Carl, and seeing a few signatures here that feature links to social media accounts (I may be ratting youz out, so sorry!), does this mean that we're allowed to mention our personal ones, or does that fall under the rule of "no personal information" that's been in place for a long time? It seems like they're relaxing the rules, but I could be way off.

If you link to a social website that includes any personal information that you are not allowed to post here you are in violation of the Terms of Use. If I see it posted in a sig I usually give the person a chance to take it out. If they don't I take it out and consider handing out a ban.

So, no there is no relaxation in the rules.

Basically I guess - maybe what I could impart to you might be the idea that:

"I don't agree with your points because - " yaddablah (stuff about that)

is a topical post.

"I don't like your thread so I'm going to generically insult you or post about how I don't like your thread or I think you're stupid"

Isn't technically a topical post.

By the standard of the board, and our moderation, it's not.  Whether or not that fits your criteria, I don't know.

But you should be aware, it doesn't fit ours.  And such a digression runs the risk of moderator action should it come to our attention.

And it makes no difference if one of you is doing it individually or several of you are doing it in a group, it's the same thing. 

It's not like "well there's five people in the thread, and three people voted to troll therefor Democracy rulez u" or anything like that either.

It's something we have to address when/if it comes to our attention regardless of those elements.

So if you're posting in that manner, either individually or as part of a group, and it comes to our attention, you run the risk of moderation or some such thing.  Like a temp ban in this case.

I have no idea about this, but I wanted to let you know about a policy thing (is this in the OP?) that if you don't get a response from the banning mod within a couple of weeks, you can appeal to admin to take a look at the situation.

You can PM Humbug directly or, if you do not have access to PM, I can pass the message along for you. Let me know if you wanna go that route.
