American Dad: Hot Water Episode

What a disappointing episode...they honestly thought they weren't getting renewed so they came up with the worst idea for a series finale....

I bet I know what you're specifically referring to. The ending of the episode. I'm guessing it was intended to make people go, "What the f*cking hell? I hate that."

Beyond that, I thought it was a standard American Dad! episode.

actually from what i've heard the writers originally thought that they weren't gonna be renewed for another season so they decided to kill off stan francine principal lewis and probably everyone else(if people coming to investigate the house)but when they did get renewed they used this as the season premiere

which seems strange if you ask me...as this would make a terrible series finale

Listening to Mike Barker talk, I got the impression it was intended to be spiteful. Kind of, "If they are canceling my show, I'm going to make people just as angry as I am".

Ceelo as a sadistic man-eating hot tub.......Iwas thoroughly entertained......The ending was WTF, but requires no explanation.....Remember that apocalyptic FamGuy.......It was an isolated episode devoid of canon......I'm OK with this.
Kaitlyn brought a wolf for me to fight, and refused to speak to me until I'd bested it in battle.
I did so, easily. Because there are three things that I'm the t!ts at: Barbecuing, Mega Man 2 and finding lupine pressure points.
I thought we'd mack a little after that, but she just laugh-cried manically over the wolf corpse until her face turned purple. Also, she was driving an Aztek and that's literally my only deal breaker.

the difference being that episode was just someone's dream this was a big screw you! to the fans and to fox....it's like if the joker was killing tons of people but before batman could do anything to stop him he dies and it ends right there....doesn't sound like a good ending now does it?

I don't think it was ever intended as a series finale. And as for the comparison to Family Guy's "Da Boom", while that was a dream, this AD episode was a story told by Cee-Lo. For all we know, he just made up a story about an evil hot tub that kills the main character.

What is so much worse about this episode of American Dad than the middle finger Seth Mcfarlane give everyone when Stweie finally killed Lois and we all found out he was in a Hubert Farnsworth patented "What if?" machine and the episode just cut off Soprano's style?

Same concept, all it proves to me is Mcfarlane could put his name on a fresh cow pie, film it for 30 minutes and people would be begging to eat the pie by the end of the episode.

Me too.  The first four seasons of Family Guy were great, but I'd still take American Dad over those.

Not that every episode is good, and the whole first season wasn't so good, but there are a lot of gems in there.

It would be a "screw you" if I had overly ridiculous expectations from a prime time cartoon........Alas, I'm not that much of a loser.

I rarely watch American Dad, probably only seen about fifteen episodes or so, because the only character I find remotely entertaining is Roger (who I find immensely entertaining) but I caught that episode the other night and thought it was one of the best of the series that I have seen.

Different strokes, I guess. I lol'd multiple times. "That's it, Stan's dead, goodnight!"
