I found the ending disappointing, though. Without giving anything away, let's just say there's no chance this episode can count as part of the regular American Dad! continuity.

2 Reasons.  First, the ending is consistent with the original Little Shop of Horrors ending.  Second, this was prepared to be used as the series finale if the show had been cancelled.  The Futurama death slot has that effect on people.

I just saw the episode air on [AS] tonight.  That was pretty good.  I didn't think they'd use the original ending, although near the end I was thinking, "If that hot tub says 'And now it's supper-time!' I swear to God..."

i know the ending was just horrible me and other people didnt like the ending i mean the episode it self was amazing but the ending messed it up

I so thought when the credits started to roll the hot tub was gonna bust through the credits or  cee lo was gonna pop up at  the end in place of the "have a good night "
