Truly, they were an Aqua Teen Hunger Force.  That is of course, until series creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro decided to re-tool the series, graduating the trio (plus Carl) into the action-packed Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1, with season 1 soon to be available on DVD!

Today Adult Swim and Warner Home Video announce exclusively through UGO the DVD release of Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1: Season 1, available for you to own on October 11th, 2011 for the suggested retail price of $29.98. 

This 2-disc DVD set features all ten episodes from the first season of Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1, as well as an incredible seven unreleased final episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Forceand "Terror Phone 3," the highly-anticipated continuation of the "Terror Phone" saga.

For those unaware, Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1 premiered on Adult Swim May 8th, 2011 as a re-tooling of Aqua Teen Hunger Force following 100+ episodes of Frylock, Meatwad, Carl and Shake's New Jersey adventures, with new episodes currently running Sundays at 11:45pm (ET/PT) on Adult Swim.  Moving the group to Seattle, the fast food trio re-energizes their detective lifestyle but still engage in the absurdist adventures that made them famous, and truly aforce to be reckoned with.

The series boasts a new theme song written, composed and performed by Joshua Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Alain Johannes, with a new closing theme shred guitar performance by co-creator Maiellaro.

No sign of the "Boston" episode being on this set. I still don't think this episode actually exists despite Dave Willis' claims to the contrary. I have no idea what could be so bad that Turner would go out of their way to make sure the episode never sees the light of day even on a DVD set.

I agree. [as] dvds usually don't cost that much.

I think these 7 unreleased episodes sound interesting, though. Gonna have to see the whole season before considering buying it, though.

The "unreleased" episodes are just the remaining ATHF episodes before they changed the name of the show that weren't on the last DVD release. Larry Miller Hair System, Juggalo, One Hundred, etc. All of them have aired on TV.

There's a difference between being "unaired" on TV and "unreleased' on DVD.

There's only 10 episodes this season and the 6th one is Sunday. The DVD release is October, nothing wrong with that.

They already wrote and did the animation for every episode. This might just be however the fastest TV to DVD transfer I've ever seen.

Probably their apologies for making the last season a one-disc set. Not complaining but I do wonder why they decided to finish them up early this time instead of waiting longer.

7 of those arn't new is what we're guessing. Just unreleased on DVD.

I'm loving this season, but I love anything to do with ATHF. The only reason I still turn [as] on is because of this show and I have the creators to thank for that even with them trolling us hardcore about "changing" the show. I'm wondering if the already announced next season is ATHF or AUPS1.
