Matt Harrigan is a writer, producer, and director, creator of Pefect Hair Forever and Assy McGee, executive producer of Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job!, Tom Goes To the Mayor, Check It Out! With Dr Steve Brule, and Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law, a writer/executive producer for 12 Oz Mouse and Space Ghost Coast To Coast, director of the Adult Swim pilot Duckworth, had production duties on Drinky Crow Show and Fat Guy Stuck In Internet, and written for Family Guy. He has peformed as Liquor on 12 Oz Mouse, Linda in ATHF Colon Movie Film For Theaters, the Major Shake/Replicant in ATHF, been a creative consultant on Stroker & Hoop, and occasional kibbutzer on Squidbillies.  He was also head writer for Celebrity Deathmatch, and written for Late Show With David Letterman, and Kablam!

Out of all the shows you've worked on, which one did you have the most fun with?
Perfect Hair Forever is clearly the best anime ever, but do you enjoy other animes? Just wondering basically what the inspiration behind Perfect Hair Forever was.
Are you disappointed that Perfect Hair Forever didn't go further, or do you think it ran it's course?
Who was your favorite guest to work with on Space Ghost?
Is Space Ghost as handsome in real life as he is on the TV?

You made some of my favorite and most loved shows. Even if I wasn't a major fun Assy was funny and entertaining, and Tom Goes To the Mayor is a classic. Harvey birdman, is possibly one of the best AS shows ever shown. The only let down you have done is Tim and Eric awesome show. All your other works are genious.. KABLAM seriously is my childhood, you are one of the best out there for my type of humor, thank you for your great work.

How do you pitch a show like Perfect Hair Forever?  Or was it something that came about internally at WS?

Just about every show you've been involved with, I've wanted to see more of.  I thought Assy was getting progressively better with each episode and then it was gone.  I was really stoked to hear about the webisodes for PHF, but there was only one of those.  I really enjoyed Duckworth, but it seemed to kinda get lost in the AS shuffle.  How large a factor is disappointment in television?  I mean, it doesn't seem to hamper you from continually doing great work show after show.  But how do you shoulder/marshal the disappointment when a show is canceled, or something great isn't picked up, such that you can keep moving forward?

I have a few things i just want to write/ask about, and now that i have the chance, i am going to ask them! first of all, i love classic adult swim shows like aqua teen and 12 oz. mouse.

a few years ago, i started noticing hidden subliminal msgs geared towards me....and alot of things such as 'poison'....what can you say about these hidden messages? do they occur?

are there any new projects in the works? should bring back space ghost for some new or old interviews!

Greetings, Mr. Harrigan. As most anyone around here can tell you, I'm a huge, huge, huge fan of your work, especially Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Perfect Hair Forever. My question for you, however, is about George Lowe. Specifically, what was it like following him around for a day in the course of filming Lowe Country and how much material did you have to leave on the proverbial cutting room floor? I get the impression from most of his public appearances that he cracks jokes pretty much 24/7.

Hey Matt. Very big fan of both Perfect Hair Forever and Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. I have a few questions to ask you:

1) When the transitioning that took place for PHF to be moved from broadcast to the internet, did you see any signs that it eventually wasn't going to work out? I was major bummed that the show ended after one episode aired exclusively onlined.

2) Any musical guests you wanted to perform the PHF intro/ending credits had the show went on? Loved the Melt Banana and Widespread Panic intos and endings.

3) I felt as though you were one of the people responsible for bringing Cartoon Newtork SG:C2C to the [adult swim] era. Did any of the top brass tried to prevent this from happening? After all Space Ghost was just a lovable, goofy, and cluelss talk show host who now wants to moisten our dreams with man urine and banging up dog's butts.

Hey, a big fan of a bunch of the stuff you've done, but I only have one concern.

I really wish Perfect Hair Forever would have continued, did you have plans for where it was going besides the paltry amount of episodes that were made? I really, really liked that show, I thought it was an amazing parody of anime in general. I just want more episodes to exist.

Space Ghost was always the most fun, and continues to be when we wade back in from time to time.  I love to insert fart noises in any anime that will permit it.  There was no inspiration behind PHF other than to amuse ourselves.  I'm not disappointed that we didn't make any more but i loved making the ones we made.  My favorite guest to work with on Space Ghost was William Shatner.  It was kind of surprising to me that he agreed to do it, so when we had him in there I wouldn't let him leave...wanted to squeeze as much out of him as i could...and I just kept asking him more and more questions, until it got embarrassing and he pretty much told me it was time to stop.
