Welcome to Programapalooza! 

It's a message board game where you vote "ratings points" to shows from a masterlist, the point totals determine where they appear on the game schedule. 

It's your chance to directly program the block (well, this "message board game version" of the block that is).  So all you armchair programmers and elim game players check out the rules (in the 2nd post).

Programapalooza basic rules:

It's a game here's what you do:

once each hour you get to vote 2 ratings points.  Your votes determine the in-game Adult Swim schedule.

So this is a "what if the Adult Swim Message Board fans programmed the block?" type deal.

Voting:  each hour you may vote 2 ratings points toward the shows,shorts, or movies of your choice.

You may vote your 2 ratings points only in certain combinations:

1.  you can't cast them for the same show.

2.  you must have at least one "+" vote in your post.  

3.  Your vote must include at least one show from the "masterlist" of shows already considered to be available for air, IE they can't both be for acquisitions.

You may also vote for non-Adult Swim shows as "acquisitions".  When an "Acquisition" reaches 100 votes, it is considered acquired and then is in the running to appear on the game schedule grid.

You may also vote for the block to expand, for each 100 votes for block expansion, the block will expand an extra hour into daytime (either from the AM or PM side, depending on how your vote is specified, non-specified expansion votes will go toward the PM side).

Voting examples (examples of unacceptable votes):
-2 InuYasha
+2 InuYasha
-1 Trigun, -1 Tim & Eric
+1 to acquire Tokyo Majin, +1 to acquire the Tick

Voting Frequency:  You can vote your two points each hour, meaning you can vote once between 6:00PM and 6:59PM, and once between 7:00PM and 7:59 PM etc.  So you can vote, for example at 4:59 PM and again at 5:01 PM.  But you cannot vote at 3:07 PM and again at 3:58 PM.

Votes will be tallied as time permits.  Sometime after a certain number of posts have accrued, or a week has elapsed, the thread will be tallied, and the next round will be opened with the new in-game schedule based on the tally.

When a show dips far enough below other shows, it will be eliminated from the schedule.

If a show currently not in production reaches "1000" it is considered to be in premieres, and/or "revived" (if it is a show that is currently cancelled), or will receive a sequel/sibling series.

Folder Immunity: The folder in which the traveling game is currently taking place is considered immune from negative votes, and also gets a + vote for hosting.

Wild Card Rules:  Each folder has its own wild card rule, please check the post after this one for those.
 
Changes from the last time (don't worry about it if you've never played before):

Changed the point totals to reflect a little more realism in terms of shows past performances.  

Shows were awarded more points based upon their number of seasons, number of timeslots on the actual weekly block, number of spinoff series, and things of that nature.  This boosted the starting numbers for this version of the game for shows like Family Guy, the Simpsons, Gundam, Doctor Who, Case Closed, Shin Chan, etc.  Shows with tons of backlogged seasons/episodes, or mainstream shows that have had several timeslots during the week on the actual Adult Swim schedule.   

The old point totals were also carried over to this game.  So shows "acquired" for the in-game schedule in previous rounds are still active on the "masterlist" of shows that are considered available to air in the game.

Added a few things to the "acquisition" list based on board posts about the shows (things like "Walking Dead" and "American Horror Story" weren't on the air when the last round of the game was happening, but they were added to the list based on chatter/discussion I've seen/heard amongst ASMBers types.

The in-game schedule now includes episode #s/codes, so the schedule is a little more detailed in that it actually not only says what show is playing in a given timeslot, but which actual episode is being show any given week.  These might not always be 100% accurate (most of the information came from wikipedia), but they're close enough.   

Some shows previously considered "revived" for new seasons/episodes, have been walked back based on the new scores.  The score required to "revive" or make a new season of any given show has gone up considerably.  Also note that any show premiering new eps on the actual block, will also be premiering new eps on the in-game schedule.

you may, as one of your two votes, shoot another player, this will cancel their last vote.

you may also "load" your post (vote two "+" votes) and shoot a show.

Important note:  Any shot you take has a chance of hitting the wrong target.  IE, one of the shows next to the show you're aiming at on the list, or one of the players that posted next to the player you were aiming at.

Each shot you take, your aim improves.

your first shot is 50/50.  50% chance you'll hit what you're aiming at.  50% chance you'll hit something else.

Each time you take a shot, your aim, and your chances of hitting the target you're aiming at, improves.

how it works:

1.  you may shoot a player, and cancel their last vote, by voting thus:

you must vote one "+" vote for a show on the masterlist (not an acuqisition)

your second vote will be "I shoot ____" whatever the players SN is.

whoever you hit, gets their last vote cancelled.

2.  You may shoot a show.

Funny story - NTSF was actually added via the "acquisition" list because it wasn't yet a show when the game first started. 

All the people voting for it were pleasantly surprised I'm sure to hear that it was actually going to be a show.

But that's actually why it's on the list that way.  It was actually added as an acquisition suggestion from that first short during Childrens Hospital.  And the short was less about the abbrevated version of the title than the show ultimately turned out to be.

Dude - chuck norris will kick your ass for shooting at him.  He'll spit that bullet right back in your stupid fat faise.
