Now, what happens when the Census taker stops by, or more importantly, the tax assessor. Look people, the Batcave is prime real estate, and it's undeclared. Yes, that's right, both Bruce Wayne and the goddamned bat are tax cheats.

Thank about all the jobs the Batman creates. Imagine all those doctors and nurses employed by Arkham Asylum, and all the people that are employed to repair the property damage.

And you're assuming that he doesn't mention the limestone formations to census takers and tax assessors. My great-grandparents had a small side-room carved out in the basement that acted as a root cellar / poverty fridge and they never got accessed for that. The Batcave is just a root cellar. With some really nice track lighting to ensure that no one trips and falls screaming to their deaths while trying to snag a bag of potatoes.
