I read The Bad Place by Dean R. Koontz a few months ago. I thought it was alright but it was weird as hell. I am currently reading The Broker by John Grisham. Oh and I read about one third of Don
Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes.

never cared much for terry goodkind -- struck me as someone far too in love with his ability to put lots of pretention on paper to care about originality and the beauty of being concise.

now canadian charles de lint, on the other hand, is a master craftsman of both the big and the small, and putting fantasy in everyone's backyard (sometimes literally). just recently finished "spirit in the wires," an internet+spirits book now out in paperback that was a fun and fascinating read. highly recommended.

trust me. i know what i'm talking about. i've read books. well...chewed books.

My attention span experienced some shrinkage throughout areas of the book, but altogether it wasn't too bad. I'd recommend it.

I just read Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas By Hunter S. Thompson R.I.P. And The DaVinci code by dan brown. Fear and loathing was great but not as good as the movie. The davinci code was one of the worst books ive ever read. Dan Brown should just quit writing because he is just terrible. Yet people read his books because they think by doing so they instantly become history buffs. People are so moronic.

HP Lovecraft - The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. A very good, if very macabre, book.

Joel Rosenburg - The Road to Ehvenor. This is a book in the Guardians of the Flame series. The whole series is well written.

Dean Koontz - Sole Survivor. A pretty solid book. I thought it could have been better.

Dean Koontz - Whispers. The best Koontz book I have read. This book is good, and really disturbing.

Recently I've read: *possible spoilers*

The Five People You Meet in Heaven-Mitch Albom.  A good story about an old man who dies in an amusement park accident and ascends to Heaven where he will meet 5 people who've influenced his life.  Tear jerker.

The Fan-Peter Abrahams.  A man who is spiraling downward in his life becomes obsessed with his favorite Red Sox player and devises a way to help the team win.  Okay story, ending is too abrupt...questions left unanswered.

The Charm School-Nelson DeMille.  Great spy thriller!  There's a secret in the heart of Russia that could catapult the Cold War into WWIII.

Loaded Dice-James Swain.  This is the fourth installment in the Tony Valentine series.  T.V. is an ex-cop who catches casino cheats.  Fast-paced reading, light hearted and fun.
