Kind of an odd "we dodged a bullet there" comment.

Obams's still in office and  Iran is looking like a real possibility now, through a number of different ongoing scenarios. The man is on record as favoring dramatically increased energy prices to push people into "green" energy. So $10 gas isn't something he's been purposely avoiding. And there's always some group of idiots rioting in the streets over something.  As for Palin,  when the trade-off was Biden? Neither party should be expecting any acceptance letters from MENSA for their VP picks.

i.e. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

Things could be better they could be worse.
In all honesty Westpark this is like the whole, "What if Al Gore wold have won in 2000."
We will never know what could have been, should have been or would have been.
All we can do is speculate.

I do ant to agree with you on one thing, we would be neck deep in a Iran war right now.

Iran is NOT a "real possibility". There's not a single intelligence agency in the world that thinks that Iran even has a nuclear weapons program... because they don't. The only thing that will happen there is more economic sanctions for the stupid posturing actions of the Iranian government.

Obama didn't fool anyone. He's fairly progressive, but congress is not. Even the super majority democratic congress wasn't very progressive. If you look at what he submitted to congress and what came out, you can see where the problem is.
