Dad shoots daughter's laptop because of FB post

lolololol

Once upon a time in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle.

The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said: Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper young prince that I am, and then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and feel forever grateful doing so.

That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on a repast of lightly sautéed frogs legs seasoned in a wine and onion cream sauce she chuckled to herself and thought: I don't f*cking think so..

That man is clearly dangerous and his daughter needs to get as far away from him as she can.

I saw that yesterday...and the praising that father got in the youtube comments absolutely made me sick. I had a father like that and I can tell you that the mental demoralization received from that type of parenting was probably one of the most horrible experiences a child can get.

Teenages are horrible, I know I was and girls are worse in general *ducks*, but if your dad has to fire rounds into your laptop to feel he got his point across, then I think he needs a check.

I don't know whats going to happen to the punchkin munchkin whe she hits puberty, and I may wind up shooting shit too, but it will never be my glorious technology.

That dad deserves an award.

Hands down the best response to a kid doing stupid stuff on facebook I think I have ever seen.

Other parents should take a lesson from this dad. Dont put up with your kids ####.

I really wish I could see the responses on facebook that her friends had for that one.

Because responding to a child as a child sets such a great example. That's good parenting logic. "Instead of acting like an adult and be responsible, let's teach her a lesson instead".

Yeah. That's such a great way to think.

She was/is an attention #### who was posting stuff on FB to get peoples attention and to cry about how "hard" her life was. Judging by the stuff that the dad had, her life isnt hard. The things you see in the video were not cheap so clearly they are not lacking money. Hell any 15 year old girl with a laptop like that should consider herself luck as hell.
Normal groundings and punishment clearly didnt work so the dad had to step it up a notch. His response wasnt childish. He read the message, said what was totally wrong with it, and then released some anger and showed his girl just how serious he was about this.

Kids these days think they are entitled to anything and everything they want. This dad sent a pretty clear message that no, no they arent.

I seriously hope you never have children. I was raised by a person just like him. Being raised like that, in constant fear of your father, never being able to trust him. To never be able to release any type of emotion that he could describe as "disrespect" because "he spent money on me" does a lot of horrible shit to a child. A lot of shit that makes you end up hating yourself, because you CONSTANTLY think you can never quite measure up to HIS #### ideals. I hate my father, more than any person on the face of the planet. The constant verbal abuse and physical abuse did that too me.

And, no. I'm not saying he physically abuses her. However, the verbal abuse is definitely there. You can gather as much from the video. No child should ever have to sit there while their father or mother, the two people on this planet who they should be able to trust more than anyone else, verbally knocks them down at every turn.

That's still pretty far from cold-blooded murder...

But either way, it's not a good example. It's pretty clear where his daughter learned that being childish and dramatic and spreading personal problems around on the internet is okay.

You don't need a handgun and a childish demeanor to teach your kid a lesson. If you enforce strict grounding rules and a belt, then that's really all you need. Shooting things with a handgun? Please.

Hell, most don't even need the belt, and an understanding parent would know teenage angst when they see it. Is she being selfish and spoiled? Probably, but that's the natural attitude for a teenager to have, especially a female teenager. The only thing this is going to teach the kid is that her dad is a bit of a whacko and a bigger attention whore than she is.

Hmmm...I wonder If the critics comprehend the level of frustration a parent can reach when they realize they raised a spoiled brat, that has no appreciation or concept of the dynamic they're in?

I have to agree with the father in the video to the extent that a more corporal consequence was justified. Some parents feel that all children must be patented the same way and over react. I don't feel the father here over reacted in this instance. For one thing, how many teen age girls have fathers that take an active interest interest in their lives to monitor their online activities? More than that, how many teenage girls are lucky enough to have a father in their lives?

Dangerous? Unstable? No. More like frustrated that he was mistaken in giving his child too much too easily, without encouraging her to work for it. But now he's fixing It. People dont realize that he didn't hit her, he didn't do something worse like ignore it so she could video cyber sex with her boyfriend for which he could show his friends and permanently commit to the internet. No. He did something far worse indeed. He took away the pistol character of her vapid teenage world.

The fact that he reacted to it isn't the deal-- it's the nature of the reaction; what's necessary and what isn't. A handgun and recorded video is not necessary, and really doesn't help in teaching anything. Many a parent has raised fine kids in a materialistic world, and not one needed a handgun and a stupid YouTube video to do it.
