Or as Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says, "Any effort to impede the right of our military members, overseas or here domestically, in voting would be an extraordinary violation of the trust that we should have for those who serve so valiantly."

Granted, Romney didn't explicitly say Obama was doing that. He just said in general that would be a bad thing, in the context of the Obama campaign filing a lawsuit against an election law in Ohio. So, is Obama really making such an effort?
No, he is not. Instead, in Obama for America, Democratic National Committee and Ohio Democratic Party v. Husted and DeWine, the Obama campaign is suing "to restore in-person early voting for all Ohioans during the three days prior to Election Day - a right exercised by an estimated 93,000 Ohioans in the last presidential election."

The Obama campaign is suing to make the Ohio election law the same way it was in 2008, when everyone, including military members, had early voting rights in the three days prior to Election Day, which isn't impeding military voting at all.
Obama 1, Romney 0

So in other words, what Romney's claiming Obama is doing is exactly opposite of what Obama's actually doing? Somehow I'm not surprised.

Romney clearly means to imply Obama. You're not going to get away with defending Romney being misleading.

Um you might to actually watch the video clip embedded in the article: The reporter clearly states "President Obama is challeging a law that gives military members extra voting privilleges". Because when you make such a painfully incorrect statement that can be entirely refuted taking the modicum of effort to actually look at the linked article come off as a massive #partisanhack and or troll.

This is a time-tested Republican tactic, getting ahead of the game and vocally blaming the other party for doing what you're doing, so when they say, "But you're the ones who are doing that," it looks like a weak defense. And in a PR sound-bite world, it really is effective. Just look at how long we've been saddled with the "Democrats are tax and spend" meme, when it's the Republicans who keep driving us deeper into debt.

Why the shock? They it all the time; for instance, the health-care mandate was originally their idea . . . .

true, but at least they had the cloak of "it happened in the 90s!". these new laws of voting rights happened recently. as in, the past few months. you'd think they'd take pride in "fixing" the supposed voter fraud they are using as an excuse to damage the rights of people who vote democratic. these were their laws that they passed in completely Republican controlled places (like Florida).
my surprise is in the fact that this blaming Obama for it completely destroys their own rhetoric on why they passed these laws in the first place.

Your point is that Romney didn't directly say Obama was impeding military members from voting. Well, here's an update on Romney's Facbook:
"I stand with the fifteen military groups that are defending the rights of military voters, and if I'm entrusted to be the commander-in-chief, I'll work to protect the voting rights of our military, not undermine them."
https://www.facebook.com/mittromney/posts/10150981
Undermining the voting rights of the military by suing to make Ohio election laws go back to allowing all voters to vote early for three days prior to Election Day? It sure sounds like Romney is ridiculously accusing Obama of impeding military members from voting.

Military Overseas Voter Empowerment Act of 2009
Requires states to send ballots to Military Service people serving overseas at least 45 days before an election.
