Fact: Can't even give you advice. Eventually you won't randomly start bawling when something reminds you of him?
Fact: *Trying really hard not to cry*
Fact: Distracted myself I think.
Fact: So my body is changing shape now, and I was wondering if anyone knew about free rental of a cave in a favorable climate. Srsly.
Fact: I wish all the things I did to make myself feel good didn't attract so much attention.
Fact: Someone gives me crap about seeming conceited right now, and I think it's a miracle I'm not a complete sociopath.
Fact: I seriously deserve some kudos in this department. Most of you aren't worthy of my presence.
Fact: Derivative of the prevalent attitude towards me in life. Pay it no mind.
Fact: I do it to cope with the attitude. Cause if everyone else thinks I'm so great, I'm probably really great, right?
Fact: I am so f***ing tired.
Fact: I need to hang out with someone as great as me so we can be miserable together.

Fact: I think this whole post is a side-effect of 4 AM.
Fact: I am stuck on female singers. Past two months I think. I love you, Save Ferris.

Fact: Sometimes I'm really bad at comforting people when they're upset.

Fact: Sometimes all I can do is hug and try not to say anything dumb.

Fact: Although the last part doesn't often work out.

Fact: One time I tried to talk a lady out of nervousness on a plane.

Fact: I'm a nervous flyer, too... I only made her knuckles whiter. Oops.

Fact: I'm a little late, duzi, but I'm so sorry.

Fact: It's not selfish of you to cry because you miss him. It's natural.

Fact: I hope you feel better soon. *hugs*

Fact: My Biology project = a complete success.

Fact: Once I got up in front of the class, I just completely zoned out and summarized the slides of my power point.

Fact: When we got to the activities, I gave them their instructions and they all complied.

Fact: It was so weird.

Fact: People rarely listen to me, and for them to all do what I say...

Fact: Odd.

Fact: I'm absolutely positive I aced that project. :smileyhappy:

Fact: It didn't hurt my grade any that I switched days to go about a week and a half, maybe two weeks earlier than I'd signed up to do. :smileyhappy:

Fact: I donated blood yesterday.

Fact: The lady was very nice, and gave me a few minutes to freak out before bringing out the needle. She didn't even patronize me for jumping away from getting my finger pricked about five times.

Fact: Unfortunately, she'd put the needle in wrong or my veins were too thin or something, because I wasn't able to fill the whole pint before they had to take it out.

Fact: Fortunately, they got enough to use the platelets, so at least I didn't go through all that mental stress for nothing.

Fact: While I was sitting at the table they had out for juice and cookies, a girl that I was talking to passed out right in front of me.

Fact: It scared the ** Yo Jo e! ** out of me.

Fact: She was just talking about something, and suddenly stopped, and fell sideways onto the ground.

Fact: She was moaning and twitching a little bit.

Fact: I was totally creeped out.

Fact: But she was alright. She came to a few minutes later, and was sent home.

Fact: To change the subject, I had to wait in the line for an hour and ten minutes.

Fact: So many students went down to donate blood that they had several rows of chairs set up, and there were still people standing.

Fact: I missed my fifth period study hall, sixth period lunch and seventh period French class.

Fact: When I was in English, I started getting dizzy, but I was fine.

Fact: When I got home, I took a nap, and woke up feeling very disoriented.

Fact: I ate a few bites of my dinner and almost threw up.

Fact: Then I did my math homework and went back to sleep.

Fact: I got pretty green tape. :smileyhappy:

Fact: My internet has been shut off.

Fact: I'm on now because, somehow, somewhere, a computer is sending out a signal that my laptop is picking up.

Fact: I should be worried.

Fact: I am a little worried.

Fact: But I'm also very selfish, and couldn't resist. :smileysad:

Fact : Getting better at coping.

Fact : Much less immature than I thought I was.

Fact : Or maybe I just don't care as much as I thought I did.

Fact : Got an interview with Wal*Mart Monday, called me back less than 24 hours after I applied.

Fact : Pretty sure I got it, I mean they just hired a bunch of people exactly like me on paper - same age, same zero experience, probably the same references even.

Fact : Just an eight-week temp job for restructuring their store, ripping up tile in some places to put down hardwood flooring, rearranging things, unnecessary stuff like that.

Fact : Wal*Mart is my savior. Praise, praise.

Fact : Wish that place wasn't always so bright though. And it smells like the in-store McDonalds kind of everywhere.

Fact : PRIASE.

Fact : Oh check this ** Yo Jo e! ** out, I got some turtles.

Fact : Two baby sun turtles and two baby alligator snapping turtles.

Fact : Found the two snappers in a drying up puddle in a ditch, and I caught the other two on different days near the river by creeping up and scooping them off their little basking rock with my shoe.

Fact : I got them in this big plastic box thing outside that I think we used to use as a catbox? Or something, I don't know.

Fact :  It's a turtlebox now.

Fact : All I can get them to eat is earthworms. They're way too slow for minnows and too small for rolly pollys but I have those in there too, and a little rocky island, and underwater tunnels, and everything.

Fact : EVERYTHING.

Fact : They have been occupying way too much of my time.

Wine facts:
  • 2004 Helix Pomatia, made by the Reininger winery in Washington state.
  • Tonight's the first time I've ever tried this wine.
  • Bought it on a whim for $19-20 at Whole Foods.
  • It's a red blend: 45% merlot, 26% cab, 19% syrah, 10% cab franc. Grapes came from different Columbia Valley vineyards.
  • If I put my nose deep into the glass and deeply breathe in and out and in, I smell dark berries, smoke, espresso, vanilla, and a little chocolate. And some oak.
  • It tastes very fruity—lots of plum and cherry. It's strangely sweet. I hardly taste any of the veggie flavors I usually get from cab franc, but I do taste some of the syrah spice. There's more oak on the palate than I'd like and I don't taste any of the smoke I smelled.
  • Now that I've got another mouthful, I'm trying to find the cab franc... and now I do get some cooked green bean action, but it's buried under all the fruit. Hmm.
  • The tannins are a bit on the soft side (no major "tannic grip"), but still present. I think what I taste isn't tannin so much as heat: the label claims 14.3% alcohol, but I bet it's really a bit higher.
  • Eh, this is an easy drinker. Except for the oak because it bothers me. But yeah, nothing "profound" or complex about the taste. There are plenty of cheap Spanish reds and French Cotes du Rhone wines out there that taste a lot better (to me) than this.
  • I won't buy this wine again, but maybe I'll at least finish off this bottle over the next couple of days.

Girly-girl facts:
  • A friend dragged me into a Gap store today to try on their "curvy" cut jeans, so I tried a pair of regular-height-women's ankle length jeans and huh, they fit pretty well. Wow.
  • We also went underwear shopping because she needed a good convertible bra to wear with a certain dress and her chest is the same size as mine so she figured I'd be a good fit advisor.
  • I told her to forget about strapless bras, even if she finds one in her size. Strapless bras do not play nice with any chest that's larger than a D. Or maybe a C, I dunno. I haven't been a C or D in a very long time.
  • Anyway, I didn't intend to buy anything for myself but then I saw a bunch of stuff on sale and I can't resist a good underwear sale so I wound up with even more undies than I already have.
  • I never feel bad about having too many undergarments. I love lingerie.
  • I have a beautiful long full-body silk slip that I like to lounge in at home. It's so comfy.
  • Don't ask me how many garter belts I own.
  • I don't wear thigh high hose because they never stay up. I prefer garters + stockings, functionally and aesthetically.
  • Plus I generally hate pantyhose. Strangely, tights are usually more comfy than pantyhose—so I'll wear tights.
  • My favorite bras (the ones that fit me best and actually do their jobs correctly) are expensive and they almost never go on sale. I need to figure out how to get discounts on 'em.

Just Say No facts:
  • Ha, I won't grow pot on my balcony. I have no use for the stuff.
  • I haven't used pot since my very early college days.
  • I guess that's why I consider it a college freshman activity, along with beer bonging and other things.
  • I don't understand why anyone would intentionally take something just to hallucinate wildly.
  • I mean, I guess know why people do it because I did a few things myself in my teens and very early 20s, but I outgrew the "just for kicks" thing when I realized there's no... I dunno, no achievement. I gained nothing truly positive from those experiences.
  • Hell, I got myself taken off codeine for migraines years ago, specifically because
  • (it doesn't actually do sh!t for migraines and)
  • I hated the way codeine messed with my brain.
  • I prefer to be in as much control of myself as possible.
  • I know from experience that very bad things can happen to you when you're impaired. Bad things I don't think I've ever talked about on these boards, even (and probably never will). Real bad.
  • Also, I try not to drink enough to get plastered. Been there, done that, don't need to keep doing it.
  • I will disown any friend who drives drunk, and my good friends know this.
  • Contrary to some folks' belief, I don't really like being tipsy.
  • Sure, 20something years ago I loved it. I loved being too-drunk-to-stand even more. I also got alcohol poisoning twice. I was teh stoopid. Not stupid & selfish enough to drive drunk though.

Random facts:
  • If you think you know everything right now, 10 years in the future you'll realize how little you really knew.
  • In the year 2012 I'll be in my 40s, realizing how little I knew when I was 30something.
  • I've narrowed the potential soon-to-be-my living room paint colors down to a lovely soft green and a warm rusty red. The green is more calming and neutral than the red. But the red is bolder and warmer. Ah, decisions.
  • Satellite TV service is included in the rent at the new place. That means I'll be able to watch Adult Swim and other cable stuff on TV again. Huh.
  • Meanwhile, my TV is not currently ready for the digital transition (because I don't have dish or cable service) and I don't particularly care.
  • One of the books I will not donate is a book of Aesop's fables. I read it when I was a little girl. At the end of each fable is a moral, printed in old English typeface. I couldn't read that typeface very well back then, so my mother transcribed each moral for me. At the end of each fable is an old English printed moral, then the same moral in my mother's handwriting. There's no way I'm parting with that book.
  • Also, my copy of The Giving Tree was first read to me by my father. Not giving that one up either.
  • Speaking of The Giving Tree: that book still makes me all teary-eyed.
  • My Mensa-member friend is now trying to convince me to take an in-person standardized IQ test. I haven't taken such a test in 20 years.
  • I took the Stanford Binet way back when. No, I won't reveal my score.
  • She knows my score though, and I know hers. (Eh, we discussed IQ tests and scores several years ago.) Every now and then she tries to talk me into applying to Mensa. I always decline.
  • I'm pretty sure my IQ has changed since the 1980s. I'm still not curious enough to find out how much (via a written test).
  • Lactose intolerance has decided I should stop eating cream cheese. Boo hiss.
  • There's a veggie topic thread in Babbling that made me realize I eat a lot of raw veggies. Because they rock.
Editorial fact: Had to fix a minor formatting issue. And a typo.
