What an awesome move by DC, supporting gays around the universe.

Green Lantern just got a lot more interesting. My DC readership will probably be more than just the Batman titles now.

Making this officially the only interesting thing about him.

I'm hoping it's not just a gimmick. They could work this into the character in a respectable manner.
As in, it's just a character trait vs. "GUYS HE'S GAY. DID YOU SEE THAT HE IS GAY? HE'S GAY. DID YOU SEE THAT? WHOA, WE'RE COOL BECAUSE WE MADE HIM BE GAY. HE'S GAY. GIVE US ATTENTION. HE'S GAY"
Kind of expecting the latter. Hoping for the former.

Its the Original Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott, not Hal Jordan, who if had oscar caliber writers would still be boring as hell.

I'm sure they'll find a way to incorporate the difficulties of maintaining a homosexual relationship and social discrimination into the plots.

Aquaman is a Zoophile .
Sure he's gay ,but he gets gay with fish and squids .
He learned his lesson about getting gay with dolphins though .
One time and the whole species just won't shut up about it .

That makes me think that DC just trolled the entire LGBT community.

DC comics has other gay characters, too, including Kate Kane, the current Batwoman, The Question, and married characters Apollo and the Midnighter.
If I remember my DC mythos correctly, The Question is former Gotham PD officer Renee Montoya. Batwoman is obvious. Don't know who Apollo and the Midnighter are.

Guess that's what happens when you find your girlfriend in a fridge.
It would have made more sense if he was into BDSM like Wonder Woman. He can conjure all his equipment.
