I laughed, if for no other reason that the man seriously thought he would have gone to hell for wearing a sticker with a number on it.

That being said, it's a stupid reason for firing someone. I bet there's more behind it.

I noticed that he was suing for back pay as well, and I've dealt with not getting that in a timely manner, so I also thought that for a second. Still....it's just a number. I was riding the subway in Chicago once and the car next to mine was #666. I survived the Hell Train ![]()

I'm not entirely sure what his rationale is, but I assume his lawyer had to talk him out of including "the Jews" in his formal complaint.

I'm not at liberty to discuss it in detail, but let's just say that I work in the plastic packaging industy.

Cripes. Dork could have just taken a sick day then returned to work the next day. Problem solved and he'd still have a job. Or he could have suffered a horrifying paper cut incident thus negating the 666 days of safety.
Disregarding the guy's religious belief, an f'n' sticker doesn't have anything to do with the job. It sounds like a weird overreaction by the company, especially since they live in a country where this sort of superstition is pretty common.

Why should he have done that? Employers accomodate different religious beliefs all the time, no reason why this guy should be the exception.

Yeah, what the fuuuuuudge? Why is this place making their employees wear stickers about how long it's been since the last workplace accident? How much money are the wasting printing these up?
Also, that company name sounds famiiar. I think they make the plastic popcorn tubs my theater sells. ![]()
