The U3 rate of unemployment remained unchanged, at 8.2%.
A total of 80,000 new private sector jobs were added, however 25,000, roughly 30% were temporary.
In actuality, the economy only added 55,000 new jobs. No wonder the President is so determined to run
on anything and everything except his record.
Reviewing the trends show a dramatic drop in job creation from the beginning of the year to now.
This is not an isolated trend, the GDP rate has also been contracting. In broad terms, it means that
the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has, predictably, failed to provide the necessary economic
stimulus to sustain growth.
A closer look shows that the U3 number has remained above 8% for the duration of President Obama's first term.
African American unemployment is now a staggering 14.4%.
Long term unemployment, those seeking jobs for more than 27weeks, is 41.9% of the total unemployed. These
people cannot find work because there are no jobs being created. Where are all the shovel ready jobs?
Breaking down jobs by sector, the one bright spot, manufacturing, produced another 11,000 jobs.
Of course, that is nothing compared to the 41,000 it was averaging during the first quarter of 2012.
A drop of almost 75% from one quarter to the next.
Three months in a row of job growth under 100,000. The President is out bragging about this. He should
be out apologizing to America for it instead.

Why should he be apologizing? He isn't given the power to strong arm corporations into hiring people they don't want when they're making record profits with the people they already have.
Now if he'd funded several major public works and hadn't hired a single person for them yet, well yes then he should be apologizing.

it is kind of what glenn beck tried to do but so much more racist and anti intellectual

It stands for "Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled."
It's what Sean Hannity says at the end of his show every day.
I thought someone was tagging his posts with that to troll him.
But this is far, far more hilarious.

Black employment is worse than that, black males under 30 have a 50% unemployment rate. The govt numbers, prob. even the u6 are undercounted significantly. If the govt admitted how bad the problem was they'd actually have to do something about it besides more tax cuts for companies sending jobs & money to Asia & token tax credits that don't matter anyway.
We need more jobs, less military spending.

Well the GOP's strategy all along was to throw every wrench in every gear possible and then blame Obama for the machine running slow. It's why no one waltzed into this thread taking it seriously.
My only interest was in the tagging thing. I thought it was someone being ironic. I keep mistaking conservative derangement with irony anymore. It's so stupid at this point it can easily be mistaken for Carlinesque satire.

they are just friends on facebook or something who think they are witty. to bad the jokes on them, following a racist anti semetic anti intellectual doosh like sean hannity.
they think they are being cheeky but all that is happening is we are seeing them follow a truly horrible/racist person,
not that I am calling them any of these things, but they are following a guy who glorifies these things, so one has to wonder

A George Will or Edmund Burke quote I could understand. But Hannity, really? And you expect people to subsequently take you seriously?
It's never a good thing when people can't tell if you're joking anymore.

The economic recovery is moving at a slow clip -- better revert to the policies of the previous leadership which spawned such a bad situation to begin with.
These specific numbers are less than thrilling -- Democrats had their chance at creating jobs, back to the party that lost millions of them.

I know everyone here is out to blame the other side but the current situation is the fault of BOTH parties .
It's not just the fault of 1 or 2 presidents over the last decade but the result of decades of bad decisions by
both parties in congress as well as the white house .
Let's take a real look at the last few decades .
Between EPA regulations ,taxes, and a lack of tort reform businesses have outsourced .
Keep blaming the rich all you want . The politicians made it happen .
We could have helped the world with real workable solutions to protect the environment
while keeping our manufacturing but instead the EPA's no mercy policies made pollution
worse by sending it where there are NO regulations .
Illegal immigration was and is a serious problem .
Instead of doing something about it the Dems want more votes and the Republicans
want the Corporations to have cheap labor . So they did little more then pony
shows to act like real action was being taken .
As a result working class wages have been stagnant for decades while inflation rises .
Meanwhile the severity of the situation is made fun of by the clueless that simply say
"Dey took our jobs" with no ideaof how badly the demand for labor has been damaged
in EVERY industry as a result .
More and more VISAs are bing approved by our government for trained foreign
professionals to do jobs for American companies within our borders at cut rates
that Americans that are paying for student loans could never make a living on .
Making it pointless to seek an education for those positions .
All this while taxes have been going up ( Through fees if not wage tax ) .
Now they want to tax the rich even more and an increasing amount of them are
taking their wealth and leaving the country .
Without enough wealthy to invest -there can be no recovery .
It's a perfect recipe for our economy to be driven into the ground and BOTH
parties are to blame .
Everyone just keeps squabbling over the little stuff and ideology while
ignoring what must be done . ![]()

sorry, but enviromental regulations is not petty squabbeling, especially when you have a condition where enviromental factors actively hurt you.
