Snap it like a twig, man. He was in the pool and told him to not go into the house until he dried off a little bit. Five minutes later, he was running through the kitchen, slipped, and landed on his arm. I spent most of the day in the ER with him getting pissed off at the doctor for touching my kid's arm and trying to bend it while he was crying in pain.
Thank God he took it like a champ. He got a black cast and I bought him a special white pen so he can have people sign it.

Did you tell him that this should teach him an important lesson about running in the house?
Also, about how easily arms break.

I told him not to run in that kitchen so many times, because it's a waxed floor and it's a little slidey slidey. He just didn't listen this time and he got hurt. Maybe now he'll pay attention to the things I say.
But I didn't harp on it. I mean, he broke his arm. I told him not to run in the house, but I didn't go into making him feel like ####.

Stupid kids, listen to your overlords.
Pre-teens think they know everything.

So you'd want the doc just put a bent arm in a cast?
Those pens aren't special.

broke my arm skating when I was 12.
Oh, I know. I've been though it as well. I just didn't like that he was touching his arm before the drugs could kick in. They didn't reset it, but he was moving it around.
When I had my arm reset, they didn't give me anything. They said my arm was so sworn, that they couldn't find a vein so I guess the doctor said "fuuuuuudge it, just hold her down". They had a nurse hold my leg down and I ended up kicking her pregnant ass into the hallway.

I didn't want them touching it until his pain killers kicked in.

oh gosh..i'm so sorry! poor guy.
that brings back memories of when i was a dumb kid and was told not to jump out of my swing set. i was an awesome jumper, until one day i managed to fly out and break my elbow. i had to have pins placed in there and that was my first surgery ever. at least i got a nice purple cast out of it for my friends to sign.
ahh...memories..i never jumped out of a swing again -- at least not at high altitudes.

But everyone needs a little pain every now and then.

Barbaric.
My dad wouldn't let them touch me again. Doctor said it might not be straight and he needed another x-ray and reset it again. I never seen my dad so angry.

I just told him that he can't go swimming for the rest of the summer and he got so mad. That's what happens when you don't listen.
