I know you were talking about that lady, but the way that lady thinks spans across the entire Tea Party movement and the members of the Tea Party in power as well.
Even the base of the Republican party in power right now share her ideas, that is what I was trying to say, her thinking asinine as it is, is not isolated to just her!

Yep! Which is why something like this is more significant than some dumbass blogger who's stupid for hating someone with no political significance.

It's becoming exceedingly more difficult every day to take anyone who uses the phrase 'teabagger' in reference to the Tea Party seriously. It's nothing more than simple namecalling, using a sexual reference that's butchered from the organization's name despite the organization attempting to identify with a prominent historical event that showed extreme dissatisfaction with the government. But you knew that....and did it anyway...

I did so, easily. Because there are three things that I'm the t!ts at: Barbecuing, Mega Man 2 and finding lupine pressure points.
I thought we'd mack a little after that, but she just laugh-cried manically over the wolf corpse until her face turned purple. Also, she was driving an Aztek and that's literally my only deal breaker.

Sadly, I think I take them more seriously because of crap like this. By that, I mean I pay even more attention to what they say and do. They paint a very unflattering picture of themselves with stunts like this.

I think I could just leave them aside. I would rather have a sane discussion about politics rather than emotive crap in which the first lady is attacked by a leader of what we are supposed to take as a serious politic movement.

I understand. What I meant was it would make a great case about why they shouldn't be re-elected with all the crap they're spewing. If the Democrats win the independent vote congressionally, they could sweep the floor of these people.

What tag? If you are going to accuse someone of tagging a message, check and make sure they are the one that tagged it. If I have a response to your message, I'll just reply to you. I do not appreciate the false accusation.

But, in response: given the juvenile actions of many of the Tea Party, and the fact that they opened up that can of worms by being unaware of the term when many used it on their placards, using the term to reference them doesn't add or detract from the argument. In fact, by stating that by virtue of using a derogatory name for another group diminishes an argument is a non-sequitur. The only time a biting remark such as that is relevant is when it is used as an ad hominem. It wasn't in this case. If you think that the comment was justified, then make that argument. But defending the Tea Party leadership for this inane attack because someone used the term "teabagger" doesn't make sense.

So, yea, try to make sure you got he right person before throwing out an accusation.

While it is stunts like this that make me think they shouldn't be re-elected, I think the case can easily be made based on their actions in Congress.

When clicking in the tag, it shows your name for some reason. It doesn't sound like a response you would make, though.

Good argument, too.

This feeling of sabotage the Obama administration at all costs doesn't just hold with the Tea Party, it is a Republican party philosophy in general.

The negativity from the Grand Ol'Party is why I stopped supporting them in the first place, I mean really how can a group of politicians that are supposed to stand for the people be so evil spirited that they would sabotage everyone in the country just because of the other party being in power?

that's easy. if you're not wealthy, you should STFU and let the rich people run the country. those are the only people that count to republicans. the rest of us are just drones to be used to make the rich more money.

Thanks. I checked who made the tag, so I do in fact know who did it.

But yea, I don't expect people to all know my style and all. But still if you are going to call someone out, call out the right person. Otherwise, you might look silly.

Well, I'm just really bad at explaining myself today :smileyvery-happy:

When I said "all the crap they're spewing", I meant in congress as well. I saw one tea party congressman on tv Saturday say that he would be against giving Obama power to restructure the executive branch to save money and jobs...just because what Obama has initially said he'd do wont cut enough.

A republican turning down a democrat to trim the size of the executive branch, save money, and save jobs all at the same time...and only because he doesn't like Obama.

The part that gets me is that they, presumably, were elected to get spending under control. Okay, fine. That can be done with a sensible approach which would include revamping many areas of government to eliminate and reduce waste. I wouldn't be shocked that if one took a serious look at the spending, one can find a ton of money just being wasted. By wasted, I mean not being used as intended in the program. And if one were serious, one wouldn't just look at cutting waste, or cutting programs, but also at the tax issue. Which isn't being addressed either.

And add the decidedly Christian Dominionist element to it and you got something that is just unable to compromise at all.

Because apparently the debt is the reason our economy is bad! Raising taxes to significantly reduce the budget deficit and work on the national debt is bad for the economy! We make sense!

I must've read it wrong. I don't do much tagging, so I must have done the 'see who tagged your message' thing wrong, but that's no excuse, I wouldn't appreciate the same thing happening to me, and I formally apologize.

Apparently I'm either bad at reading, too or my iPhone is too small....I thought the final column was for who made the tag, but it's the author of the latest post in the thread.

And nothing on the argument at hand? He makes a good point without using any "derogatory" names (even though people in the Tea Party have used the name before).

What proof do you have that what his one person thinks spans across the entire Tea Party movenment(or the Republican party for that matter) beyond the vague generalizations that people like to make of any political group?
