I do not defend pedophiles, at all. I disagree with their actions. I simply disagreed that they should be murdered. I'm sorry I'm not a sociopath with no conscience.

Killing him slowly and deliberately. Possibly torturing him beforehand.
Putting him in an arena and hunting him down after giving him a head start, but leaving him unarmed.
Sodomizing him with barn tools, then killing him.
Locking him in a small bedroom with a catholic priest. (ok, sorry, that one was mean to priests).

I don't think they should be murdered, like if the guy had hunted him down afterwards with intent to kill he should go to jail. Although I still wouldn't be sad that they pedo died, it's still murder. I just don't see this as murder, just a accident that happened while defending someone from rape. Which happens to be legal in Texas, so I'm surprised it even went to a grand jury.

So yeah it's not that you don't think they should die I have a problem with, it's the idea that pedophiles have no control over raping kids. Mainly because if they truly had no control they would just randomly jump on kids they see on the street, but pedophiles normally do their crimes smartly (this guy didn't really do so) and try to hide it, that tells me they were making careful decisions which is the opposite of a loss of control.

And the other problem is if it is out of their control then that is also saying they are not responsible for it. Which is BS they need to be held responsible for their actions.

So yeah that was my disagreement with you. I don't think pedophiles should be hunted down and killed, but I'm not blaming this father since he wasn't intending to do it. It was just the no control comment.

Which like I said if they want to go with the no control excuse they should be treated as animals, because humans have control.

Actually, according to Texas law, deadly force is justified in breaking up a violent crime, especially if it's the rape of a minor. This is justifiable homicide, plain and simple.

Dose: And the father doesn't have a conscience? Dude, you're logic is flawed.

Even if they brought charges -- good luck finding a jury that will convict esp in Texas.

yeah I meant to say that it was legal in texas to use deadly force while protecting someone from rape. Maybe I wasn't clear or made a typo though.

Clearly you're incapable of reading. I specifically said I understood that it is hardwired into the genetic code of parents to protect their children at all costs. I even stated that I understood why he did it. I simply do not accept his decision as the correct one.

There are other ways to remove the offender without killing him. One, being to simply remove him and then restrain him until police arrive. It's as simple as that. I do not accept that killing a person, regardless of their actions, as ever the correct response unless you are defending your LIFE or the LIFE of another in the process.

And, the people applauding this man for killing him....well, them, I do not understand one bit. You're celebrating the death of an individual, a person who could no more control his actions than a dog can stop itself from shitting on the carpet when neglected.

I would probably be more okay with this individual's death if I were a sociopath, I suppose.

wait I may be reading this wrong, but did you just say pedophiles can't control their actions? That's kind of a excuse isn't it? I mean I know pedophilia is kind of a mental illness and most of them aren't choosing to be sexually attracted to children. But know what I don't chose to be attracted to adult women but I don't go out and rape them because I have no more control then a neglected dog. That's just..wow I hope I'm understanding you wrong. If I would let anyone in this situation get away witht he excuse of not being able to control his actions it would be the dad.

Anyway I think he was probably just trying to get the guy off his daughter, and didn't realize how much damage he was doing. And considering the situation I don't blame the guy for not being able to think clearly enough to notice that he was doing to much damage. Not to mention head shots are a tricky business, you can do a lot of damage punching someone in the head without trying. So yeah I don't blame the guy at all.

you can train a dog to not shit on the carpet, so why can't you train a pedophile to not want to have sex with kids?

also, if it's hard wired for a parent to protect his kids, then what are you arguing about? Our most primal instinct is to eliminate what we deem a threat. we do it every day through vaccinations, through use of pesticides to protect the crops we eat, through culling of animals who we know to be a danger or competeing for our food, so why is it so hard for you to understand that we will eliminate that which is harmful to our children?

i can't believe anyone would actually think he did the wrong thing by killing that dirtbag....what kind of moron do you have to be to start suggesting murder is wrong and killing anyone for any reason is wrong and that if you kill someone you should go to jail no matter what...

do you honestly think the dad would be able to sleep at night with someone like that merely being in jail for a few months....

It wasn't like he meant to kill him...but all in all that dirtbag deserved it. If you are sick enough to touch kids, you are nothing but an animal. And guess what? Animals get put down all the time for attacking people. So feh. Also if dude had lived and served some time he would be back out and try to be sneakier next time.

Once upon a time in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle. The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said: Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper young prince that I am, and then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and feel forever grateful doing so. That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on a repast of lightly sautéed frogs legs seasoned in a wine and onion cream sauce she chuckled to herself and thought: I don't f*cking think so..

I'm not sure how you jump from having desires to not being able to control them.

I'm gay, but that doesn't mean I have no control over my actions when it comes to sexual desires. I don't rape every guy I think is attractive (BuddyRoe should probably worry, though :smileywink: ). Pedophiles may not be able to control their desires for children, but they sure as hell can control their actions when it comes to children.

In this case, I know you're not defending the assaulter. I'm pretty much pro-life when it comes to situations like the death penalty and vigilante justice, but that doesn't apply here I think. The father was protecting his child and did not have the intention of killing him, even though that did happen. I'm not applauding that he killed the guy, but I don't think he should be charged with anything. Manslaughter doesn't apply for reasons already stated: he wasnt being negligent and excessive. You might argue the excessive part, but he was getting the guy off his daughter and he may not have been strong enough to physically pull him off and restrain him until the police got there. Good call from the grand jury, IMO.

I support this since you can't control your desires which means you can't control your actions which makes it not your fault. Daniel Craig should learn to be less sexy.

Chain the creep down.  Every ten days, dump kerosene on a different body part and light it.  Not a big enough part to kill the creep after the first ten fires, just enough to know what pain feels like.
