Well guess i have two houses now...

My Grandfather(my dad's dad)died recently and as such my family now has to tend to his home and take care of it now

my dad has even brought up that we'll probably be a lot more time down there now perhaps using it as a weekend retreat....wasn't so keen on the idea due to the fact that it's out in the country away from society and I'm used to living the city life where you don't have to drive that far to find something to eat or find a store to get what you need.....my dad also stated that he's thought of hooking some internet to that old house(not as good as this mind you but still decent)and buying another ps3 to set up down there....still not sold on the idea...if you guys were in my shoe would you be any more comfortable with that?

Maybe you should be nice so your parents give you the house in the city and they will move into the house in the country.

Make the whole house a ball pit. If you're still not comfy with those shoes, let me wear them.

Also, my condolences about your grandpa.

Why do you have to go with them? Do they not trust you alone at one house? As a young person you should help your parents fix up the house that they may die in. It's not that often that you get a chance to get a house given to you.

Talk to your parents and see if they'll let you stay at home by yourself. Tell them you won't forget to turn off the stove and oven.

this is not a thing where oh yeah this house will be mine it's the type of thing where you have to take care of a house for the weekends or whatever and head back home especially since where my dad currently works it'd be far too long and hectic to drive from the country to work and back home again not only that but like i said there's practically no stores of any kind in the area or food places

What else do you have better to do? Go do it. It'll build character.

I've lived in both settings, and yes, there's gonna be some downsides like poor internet and driving to do anything...but...there are a lot of upsides to it, too. If you get to know the community, smaller towns in the country tend to be a lot closer knit, so there might not be as many spots to hang out at, but the places there are will be really familiar....assuming you take advantage of them.

There's a lot of good stuff out in the country....probably be a shock, but it's no big deal.

Growing up in a town with one gas station and nothing else, I consider these cons.

Nevertheless...

cityfrylock : Wasting your weekends there does sound like a bad time but if you could swing it so that you could stay over there for maybe a week at a time or so that sounds like it would be an awesome setup compared to living with your parents, even if the location itself is worse across the board. I mean your own HOUSE. Just think of what you could do. I am sort of jealous.

If it's on land then go outdoors and go on an adventure. Go shooting, fishing, hiking, boating, or just hang out. Try something new; you may be missing out on one of your favorite activities and you may not even know it.

maybe that's how he got his wife :smileyvery-happy:
