I don't get it. What's wrong with using a device or chemical to prevent getting pregnant when one wants to have sex without the chance of getting pregnant? Can anyone here explain this to me?

I agree and I really don't see why conservatives are so against contraception. Contraception means less babies, which means less pollution, happier people, people who can put more effort into their jobs thereby helping their companies much more. It's less money on social services in the future because there'll be less people to worry about.

If you think being poor is a matter of choices why would you care if poor people have kids? They actually aren't being illogical there (in terms of their own views not in terms of reality) because poor kids can just make better choices and not be poor.

On the contrary. I think there are conditions that keep poor people down. One of them is having no access to contraception and having too many kids to maintain finances and/or sanity.

Well, they're hypocrites then, because a majority of people(including 98% of Catholic women) in this country use contraception.
