You know when you were younger

..and you could play games when sick and never put down the controller no matter how sick you were? I try to do that night but this cold headache and congestion and sore throat really is just too much to concentrate on playing a game and enjoy it. So that made me think, am I getting old? Or am I just losing interest in games?

It almost hurts my head to play games or do anything to active when I am sick now, and I mean like the last few times I've been sick within the last few years.

Is anyone else like this? Am I getting old? Or am I losing interest in games because they bore me so much regularly that when I try to play them when sick - it's just way too much.

Some people will tell me I'm crazy, and I'll tell them that's the only thing that keeps me sane.

Losing interest in games isn't a sign that you're getting old, it's just a sign that you're losing interest in games. I never played games when I was sick because the lights would make me feel worse.

I was never a "gamer" but my interest in video games has declined rapidly after high school, now that I can just go out and do...anything else. I don't chalk it up to age.

I once semi-faked a cough in elementary school, so I could sit at home and play Football all day on my playstation.

This was back when PS1 was all the hype.

Greatest. Day. Ever.

I recently tried to play Team Fortress 2 when a minor hangover. I was horrible.

Yeah. It may be that I used to play on a standard tv, but now with HDTV's everything is all bright. An yeah I think I'm losing interest in them, I have only bought like 4 in the past year or so.

I don't know, I get sick maybe once a year and I play games more frequently than that.

Yeah... I can't play any game even with a slight hangover, I'd rather just turn on the tv. They just make me so bitter and I get annoyed by them easily.

See I think the thing is after highschool, and getting over the 19-20 slump, games start to lose their appeal. At least for me they have, I used to play Budokai 3 like a crackhead on ps2, now I can play a game for 30 minutes and get over it.

When I was young, I never needed one, and Crash Bandicoot was just for fun.

I still play the game sick, but not much deters me from the game if I have the time except when I had my toenail removed, All I could do for 2 days was lay down and writhe in pain..........I submit than anyone that grows out of gaming just really wasn't that into it to begin with.......I could be wrong.

See I used to be big into gaming, I used to play them every day for hours even on schoolnights. I've been thinking and I think it just comes down to games this gen just not being that attractive. The last game I bought and played for more than 30 minutes was Dark Souls, and before that Yakuza 4, pretty much every other game that has been hyped up over the past year hasn't been all that appealing to me.

I mean, a lot of them just seem like interactive movies with a few flashy ciinematics and the game ends 9 hours later. Not just that though, they all seem too easy, or too bland. They might as well not even include gameplay if all you do is press a few buttons with mild knowledge of controls and beat the game.

I dunno, it could be everything blended together on top of being sick and just not caring that much to play.

Ur probably getting older. I'm not even 30 yet & I look back & wonder, stunned, how I did half the #### I did when I was 18. I've mellowed out quite a bit. I can't really play video games like I used to either. I have too many interests & its hard to sit still for such a long period of time.

Maybe you are just so sick to the point where you can't concentrate on video games. I was really sick recently, had a terrible fever, and couldn't even surf the internet as I usually would if I were sick.

Between 21-26 I almost never played gamed......Too busy getting shitfaced on a daily basis.......I guess my whole coming around to be an avid gamer actually was brought on by my sobriety (or several attempts at it before getting it down)..........I will agree that games have become rather generic, and you have to actually look for great titles amid all of the thousands of cookie cutter games.

Since I mainly like fighting games, online play has really made most of those titles stick for me, I have at least 4 fighters I play constantly........The Uncharted series is good since I've played through all three of those several times apiece.........Twisted Metal was an overhyped bag of crap since the single player is worth an evening, and they never bothered to fix the multiplayer to a point that it's even relevant...........Skyrim was a decent distraction, but since i stopped playing it, i can't get back into that groove where it was all I played.

Right now Kid Icarus Uprising has my full attention, the game is all kinds of epic, and they added such a great difficulty system that you can play it at almost a 3 year olds level, or crank the juice all the way up for some serious carpal tunnel inducing gameplay.........You didn't ask me any of this, did you?

Well I don't have a 3DS so I probably won't be getting that, lol. The only game right now that I'm looking forward to/anticipating is the next in the Souls series and PSO2. I haven't really been playing any fighters lately either though, I prepfer to play locally than online and since most of my friends are off at college, I don't. Plus... Crapcom's really getting down there now. Though I guess I do randomly play SFA3 from time to time still, against the cpu.

Yeah see I wasn't a fan of Arcade Edition for 4, and I didn't like the button changes for MVC3. An I saw the whole thing with dlc on the disc for SFxT and I was just like, meh, not this time Capcom.

My friend's been bugging me to get Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown but I don't know, I never liked the original VF5 much.

BlazBlue is also pretty good, I had Calamity Trigger when it came out, played a good amount of it before going back to SSF4.
