Bullets are still high priced due to the run on ammunition right after Obama was elected, so yes people believe Obama is trying to take guns out of their hands.

Guess so.
Geez. No wonder these folks get so defensive whenever someone talks about trying to prevent the mentally ill from buying guns.

Ah yes, gun rights. One of a few things the U.S. Supreme Court has gotten wrong in the Court's last decade of mediocrity.

i'm all for people owning guns. And other military hardware. In case we need to take down the government ![]()
really though I think gun laws are fine the way they are don't think we really need more as long as what we have now is enforced. I'm don't see the need for carrying a gun with you everwhere you go, and think it could cause more problems then it could fix, but whatever.

Actually it's a little more complicated then that .
To be honest Bill Clinton did more to raise the prices over a decade ago .
It would be far more accurate to blame the United Nations for the current price of ammo in the US .
I've been in the ammo market for a LONG time now .
The VAST majority of all of the center fire ammunition that was used in the United States
prior to about 4 years ago was actually surplussed military ammuntion .
When their ammo reaches a certain age most major militaries would make a profit by
selling off the surplus to American civilian distributers who in turn sold it to American shooters .
They got rid of their old ammo while recovering some funds ,and American shooters got high quality
low cost ammo in bulk .
Just prior to Obama's time in office the United Nations passed it's own regulations to get other UN countries
to sign a treaty intended to destroy ammo and guns that were being sold to 3rd world African countries
where there was never ending violence .
The real kicker ---
The treaty prevents sales to civilians but NOT sales to any member of a foreign military .
By definition , self proclaimed warlords are part of the military so they can buy it .
Now even MORE ammo is going to Africa then before .
BTW --
Bill Clinton passed a law to prevent Americans from getting servicable surplussed ammo
from our own military years earlier .
The ammo grab in the first years under Obama would have happened even if McCain
won the election because of the circumstances .

I'm not comparing abortion to guns.
Someone brought up the idea of paying a $350 fee to buy a gun. I asked if we should have to pay a $350 fee to get an abortion, to vote, or to practice any other right. Nobody has answered my question yet.

^^^ this is what happened.
constitutional right to bear arms - can't take it away so ridiculously jack up the price to even apply for one (+ fingerprinting fee = significantly more than the paycheck of someone who works full time @ minimum wage for one week)
I'm not a gun person personally but that still comes off as extremely broken to me, it does absolutely nothing but make guns less available to poor people who want to exercise their right to legally one.

I just want some sort of nationwide cc program. Because some states don't respect other states CC holders and that seems stupid.
Also I want the MG registry reopened. Just so i can get an MG3 and american 180.
Selfish, I know.

For once you and I agree on something .
This makes something needlessly cost prohibitive for poor people .
What's next -you have freedom of Speech but you have to pay $5000 for a permit to use it ?
That just seems as anti-American as it gets to me .
SCOTUS has ruled that it is a RIGHT under the constitution .
We are supposed to be equal under the law no matter what our economic status .
Now we should have to PAY to have our rights ?
