If you had one hundred-million dollars, what would you do?

I'd buy a thousand acres of land out in Utah or Montana and no one would ever hear from me again. My own paradise of wilderness that I could hint on year round and say "screw you society, good luck with your political bs."

I'd pay off my personal debts and my parents' debts and then give the rest to charities. I don't like the idea of sitting around doing nothing for fifty years and I don't like the idea of not earning what I get.

I'd buy some nice property around here, I like this area, and I'd
do what I could to help out locally, most likely providing venture capital to small businesses and contributing to charity.
I'd buy gold and guns as well.

Also, a picture of Ronald Reagan would go on a billboard overlooking the campus of Stanford University, and electrified billboard, to prevent vandalism.

Better idea. Use your wealth to fund your own charity where you have direct control of how the funds are used, and you can also help people directly so your not sitting around doing nothing.

I do agree though. If you do nothing but wait for the end, you might as well as kill your self.

I'd do that and then donate like half of it to various charities. Probably 3/4 actually. I don't need that much money.

And pay off everyone's debts, maybe buy a few friends a house. There's a ton you can do even with 25,000,000. Set for life basically.

I'd probably buy an even fancier computer than I have now. But that's only a few thousand.

The point of the exercise is to think about what you want is you had complete autonomy from the constraints of things we accept as a conventional life.

Actually I would do something similar though I wouldn't go way out there. Too #### cold. I'd love to visit Utah & go canyoneering sometime but that's it.

I'd buy a tropical island somewhere in the South Pacific or Indian Ocean -- way away from people, & sorta set up my own little empire.

This too. I'd pay off my student loans & all my family's debts, give a lot to charity, & then go retire to some island.

ive always liked the look of austrailia

wouldnt even have to learn a new language....

then after setting there, id do this.. mess around on asmb.. probably research charities to send money to. or if i came across a really sad news story, kid needs money for surgury type stories, id  send money to them anonymously

My own land of fantasy....somewhere far away from people and top of the line security to destroy uninvited guests. Also help the poor by building low income homes..BUT they have to be working, drug free and they will be allowed to live there for a year to save up and then move to give another family a chance to get help. And yeah...they will get surprise visits at random times...cause I don't like being played yo.

All kidding aside, I would fund research for the military: better body armor, bigger ships, smart technology, rehabilitating wounded soldiers.

Don't you want a fortress to come home to?  When you're old and dying you can have a castle already dug into a mountain and die there after you've traveled the world.

Unless you die in India and the natives huck you off a cliff into the ocean.  That'd be kinda cool.

half of it would go to my son's school. we'd have a theater built for them first. their music teacher does such amazing things with their limited resources, they deserve to have a theater. the rest could be used for whatever they wanted.

with the rest, we would buy our house, buy some of the land behind us that's for sale, fix up the house, and finally get the solar and wind turbines put in. buy some cows, chickens and such so that we could be more self sufficient. blue could start his business and i could buy my storefront. money would be put into a trust for my son and for his guardian [once blue and i are gone]. we would put money into trusts for our other three kids. i'd give my mother and father in law money to retire to florida. i'd donate a bunch of money to local no kill animal shelters and the arc. i'd also give money to my sister so she could buy a house with some land so that her daughters could have horses of their own.
