moving with a dog

so... going to be moving late this year. we will be flying and are unsure of how to get our dog out there too...  the flight will most likely be long, min 7 hours, typically at lest 9 with at least 1 connection most likely 2-3. the planes are often the small type, where i can't even stand up in it bent over and i get to straddle the pilot the whole way. tho this may be avoided by going to the airport farther away, will require a taxi.

so far the only thing i can think of is a pet shipping service... which i don't like the idea of.

My sister flew her dog from here to California.  That's a 5 hour flight.  The dog was fine.  But years later when the dog got shipped back her eye was damaged.  She had a detached retina so she was blind.  plus we have a quarantine shelter here for any animal that hasn't had recent papers.  It's rough moving animals.

A lot of dikheads just ditch their pet.  You're not a dikhead are you?

It sounds like you need to use the pet shipping service.  See if they have their own shipping kennels or do you have to buy your own.

Are you moving out of the country?  If not why don't you drive.  Take your dog cross country.  moving right along.

Dogs are great at being shipped. If it's good enough for humans, it's good enough for dogs.

would never ditch him. driving is just not going to happen. distance too far, military will only let you drive about 6 hours or something like that in a day if you drive yourself. would take about a week.

You can get fido sedated at the vet so a 10 hour flight won't be very traumatizing. Talk to your vet about it and see what other options are available, vets have a vast network of animal people at their disposal that are eager to help fellow animal lovers. When I moved cross country I went by car so it wasn't a problem for me. Lots of people like to honk and wave at you when you got a corgi laying in the back window <_<

"No, it doesn't gross me out. I have learned a long time ago to accept the fact kids will forget to flush the toilet. It's when they leave a floater and no TP with it, THAT'S when I get grossed out"

Kinda feel bad for the helper dog.......Seems she's on a never ending spiral.

My ex brought a puppy home, and said "she's not going to get much bigger"...........I asked what kind of a dog was it, because it looked suspiciously like a lab........She said it was Jack Russel Terrier........In my brain, I said "god you're stupid", but we kept it anyway.......We broke up, and I kept the dog (not by choice)......She stayed small for a while, and had her own room and was spoiled as hell, then she turned into a horse..........I put up with if for a while, but she was just too big......Even though she was trained as far as bathroom issues, she never grewq out of being a puppy.....Honestly she still was a puppy.......I made her a house, and put her outside.

It took like 4 attempts before I fully went through with it, because You've never seen a sadder face......Almost like she felt she had did something wrong that made me hate her.......She finally snapped out of it, but it was an ordeal.

Best ending line of any novel ever: "Thomas, why did you buy the large breed Puppy Chow?"

Do some Googling - there are people that will drive yer pets cross country and all when you move. You have to trust your pets with complete strangers, but you'd be doing that anyways. This way they'll be safe - flying animals is just not a good idea at all.

Also the best first line of any book, "The building was on fire, and it wasn't my fault. '

You must stop this. You're making me want to reread the series... but then the wait for Cold Days will seem unbearable again. >_<
