I won't go as far as Shotgun did, but she probably brought this upon herself. I can't feel sorry for someone who intentionally took that many drugs, had that much alcohol and was in such a terrible relationship.

Sorry, but she could have made better choices in her life so that she'd live longer.

Shocked and not shocked. It's a weird feeling.

She had a lot of personal demons and it's sad that those demons got her in the end no matter how hard she tried to get rid of them.

We could all make better choices, and every single one of us, including you, is one mistake awasy from a downward spiral when we don't have a proper support group.

Unfortunately, your inabilit to "feel sorry" speaks to your own flaws, not hers.

Stan from American Dad gave her too much Cocaine again. This time she finally overdosed. Never thought about it much. But, Ol' Whitney probably couldn't have had the same fortitude that Keith Richards has to hard drugs!

Pity, its a shame fame and money can facilitate the worst in a person just as easily as they can facilitate the best in them.

I think it's unfair to blame Bobby, when Bobby is a drug riddled ass hole........His career was in the pooper long before they got together.......She chose a loser, and he used her wealth to stay relevant.......She was America's sweetheart......So many other options were available to her, but she stayed with Bobby........I can't speak for what was actually going on in her heart, but she didn't HAVE to be with Bobby......Had she ever gotten clean I think she would have seen that Bobby had nothing to offer except dope connections, but being helplessly high let's you miss things like that.

well, they weren't good for each other. i mean bobby was an ass. he didn't get kicked out of new edition for no reason. when he went solo he just turned into a bigger prick.

she should have left while she could.

All I have to add is I never thought he would outlive her....

Once upon a time in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle.

The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said: Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper young prince that I am, and then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and feel forever grateful doing so.

That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on a repast of lightly sautéed frogs legs seasoned in a wine and onion cream sauce she chuckled to herself and thought: I don't f*cking think so..

I didn't feel sorry for Amy Winehouse, and celebrities who die because of their own poor choices won't get my sympathy.

If I were to die because of drugs and alcohol, I would never expect anyone to feel sorry for me either. It was my own fault, and I could have prevented it. Simple as that.

Ah yes, drawing minor distinctions between when and when not you should feel sympathy for a recently deceased individual.

I remember that. And I remember thinking it was kind of an edgy, bad joke. Yes, there are moments when Seth MacFarlane cartoons stop being funny, and start being offensive. Shocking, I know.

What this thread really does is give me an excuse to link to the "Heartbreak Hotel" music video.
