And barmaids to deliver the drinks to the rooms since their wives would never let them spend the entire time in bar.

It would be a good way to profit off of the people who might be there for a week waiting for someone to die.

A.....are these actual questions?........Am I in the Twilight Zone........Nah, probably not.

The hotel thing kind of throws me for a loop, but isn't THAT farfetched.........The thing is they have hours you can visit.......When it gets to be night time most people can only have like 1-2 people hanging around............Usually the rest of the fam has to go, and I've got to say I've never seen them in the waiting rooms.........They usually make you clear out, but I haven't been to EVERY hospital.

Bars?.........I'll just give you a while to fully grasp what you're asking for.........Was that enough?.........I'll help though.....We'll start with drunken wheelchair races, and end with alcohol poisining.........Contracting it at the hospital doesn't look too good.

The hospital could build a little side building where guests could shower and sleep.  and sex.

A...yes...well, the hotel one anyway...

Go to an ICU/CCU section with people in critical condition. Trust me. If people care enough, they stay.

My grandfathers kids have lived here for the past four days, and about 20 other people have been rotating in 2 at a time every time they let them in.

You know... that's actually a really good idea. Especially for people that have family members of the people that are in there for days with major operations or something. Very basic hotel rooms and stuff and that way patients can call their family members from room to room and the family member would be right there instead of having to driving from one side of town to the other.

The Med Center here has a hotel (with a restaurant and bar) on their property, and there's also one across the street that just opened.  Plus Ronald McDonald House for people with kids.

Would seem to invite a lot of headaches, new labor unions, zoning codes and the like. Also, I don't think there are enough people who would be there to justify the expense, also who would really want to sleep by a bunch of sick people?

I haven't got a clue, but hospitals should be better equipped to handle family and patients.
I've been in a hospital for an extended stay and I have to say the one I was in svcked on all levels.

lol. i think it's because it's a hospital and puts all efforts and resources into healthcare. most patients' visitors live nearby or have other family nearby.

why not just go to a hotel nearby if you can't go home?

Well a lot of big city hospitals do have Ronald McD Houses associated with them.  But I guess most figure you can stay in nearby hotels.  It's just that until a few years ago, there really weren't any spots to put hotels near the Med Center, so I guess they finally built one on the property within walking distance of the main hospital (they also have shuttles to ferry people around to all the clinics and parking lots if you have mobility issues).  But the hospital is located in an odd place, a few miles away from where most of the city's motels/hotels are.
