Bleach Character Guide Submission Thread

The submissions for the Bleach Character Guide will be very similar to the episode guide with one major difference. We will be working on the characters in groups starting with the humans in the story then moving on to Soul Reapers, etc. Here are the basic facts on submitting entries, originally written by Fool and edited to fit the character guide.

These individual character guide posts will be written and submitted by you - the ASMB user population. Fool_on_the_Hill and myself will then be taking the information in the submissions and adding them to the wiki itself. Credit for each individual post will be given to the users who compiled and wrote the information.

I want to submit a character guide, what do I do first?

First, you need to post in this thread and announce which character you'd like to write about. If no one else has done so ahead of you, you are free to create a submission for that character. There will be an announcement for each group of characters.

Can I write more than one character guide at a time?

No. Not at this moment. This is to reduce any monopoly on submissions by any one user.

What information do I need to include in a character guide?

• Name of the character
• First episode the character appeared in
• Name of the English VA
• The race of the character (human, Soul Reaper, etc.)
• A description of the character
• Links to pertinent fanclubs

Can I include any additional information?

Yes. You may include any other interesting trivia for that character. You also may collect 3 screencaps for that character (CANNOT be fanart) to be added in a graphical image in the post.* The HELPeRs will choose one to be featured.

* This is a work-in-progress, so don't be surprised if you don't see this feature in every post.

Okay, I've finished compiling and writing my submission, now what do I do?

Now, you must post your submission in this thread for the HELPeRs to review and make any edits if necessary. Once everything looks a-okay, your submission will be added to the larger Episode Guide thread. The HELPeRs will give you credit for the post.

Hey, that was kinda fun. Can I write another character guide now?

Yes. Once you have completed one submission, you may claim a new one. Remember to check that one hasn't already been written for the character you wish to have, though.

I was hoping that the character guides would be a bit more substantial than this.  Like, maybe you should have a less bare-bones character description of Ichigo, and include some factoids from the Bleach guide books, like their likes and dislikes, birthday, etc.

Also, if MoreAnime is available, we should get him to help with this.  The guy is like a walking Bleach wiki!

P.S. I wouldn't really call the ability to possess spirit energy "one-of-a-kind", as other characters are shown to possess it, in the show, that are human.

Character Bio:

Owner and operator of the Kurosaki Clinic in Karakura Town, Isshin Kurosaki is a loving father of Ichigo, Karin, and Yuzu. His wife, Masaki, was slain protecting Ichigo from Grand Fisher six years ago. Isshin is extremely goofy and energetic, to such a point that he is an annoyance to his children.

Trivia:

Tite Kubo's theme song for Isshin is, "Don't Drag Me Down" by Social Distortion

Kubo  wanted to originally portray Isshin as a mortician.

Appearance: Tatsuki is the more boyish friend of Orihime Inoue and with her small frame, smaller breasts and boyish attitude is somewhat of a contrast to the Orihime. Her short dark hair is kept spiked out on the sides in line with her boyish attitude and mannerisms. She is usually seen in her school uniform or Karate outfit.

Personality: Tatuski is very level headed most of the time unless provoked and uses her great strength to beat up anyone that bothers her or her friends. Tatsuki is very insightful into Ichigo’s personality, having been friends with him from a young age. She dreams of becoming a Karate champion and is already ranked as the second strongest girl in her age group. Her most obvious feminine trait is that she makes a point of writing her name using Hiragana (たつき) as she believes her name is cuter written in that style as opposed to Kanji (有沢 竜貴). Tatsuki is Orihime Inoue’s best friend and constantly protects her from men looking for a date, not doubt only interested in Orihime’s large breasts, as well as Chizuru Honsho, the school lesbian, who often attempts to sneak up behind Orihime and grab her breasts. Tatsuki has protected Orihime since middle school when she beat up a group of bullies that were attempting, once again, to cut Orihime’s hair. After this Tatsuki swore that she would protect Orihime from anyone that made her cry. Like most of Ichigo’s friends, Tatsuki is spiritually aware and can clearly see Wholes, Hollows, Shinigami and other such supernatural occurrences, though she lacks any spiritual powers of her own. She is strong enough to survive most spiritual attacks that would kill ordinary humans and was even able to survive the Arrancar Yammy Rialgo’s Gonzui, thought she was severely weakened. Tatsuki is able to sense Orihime’s presence so powerfully that the connection can even cross detentions as she stated that she could feel Orihime’s presence while she (Orihime) was in the Soul Society, though she remarks that she hasn’t been able to sense Orihime since she was taken to Hueco Mundo.

Plot:

Agent of the Shinigami Arc:

In the earlier part of the series, Tatsuki is mainly seen alongside Orihime and also protects her from the Hollow Numb Chandelier, but gets injured in the process. When Orihime's powers awaken Tatsuki in turn gets protected by Orihime. Soon after that, Tatsuki begins to see Hollows clearly, but never mentions it to Orihime. Tatsuki made Orihime promise that she will come back alive before Orihime goes to Soul Society.

Arrancar Arc:

Later on, during the first invasion of the Arrancar, Tatsuki nearly dies at the hands of Yammy, who uses his special technique called Gonzui to absorb human souls. A timely rescue by Orihime and Chad saves her. Tatsuki also witnesses the battles between Ichigo, Tōshirō Hitsugaya's team and the Arrancar. When Orihime gets taken away to Hueco Mundo, Tatsuki is noticeably upset at her sudden disappearance, punching Ichigo's head through a window and shouting at him for not telling her what he knows. She is later accompanied by Keigo Asano and Mizuiro Kojima to Kisuke Urahara's Shop and sees Ichigo leaving for Hueco Mundo.

I probably would, but I have sent a PM to someone who likes Ichigo to see if they want to make a description.  I want to throw in my hat for one of the characters, but I can't reserve them yet because we are still on humans.

And why are characters like the Urahara shop people and Yoruichi on the human list?  Sure, when we first meet them they don't appear to be anything but human, but a cat isn't human at all...

Karin Kurosaki is the daughter of Isshin and Masaki, as well as a younger sibling of Ichigo. Yuzu and Karin are fraternal twins. Karin has the power to see spirits just like Ichigo, thought initially she refuses to acknowledge that spirits exist. After the passing of her mother, Karin promised herself that she would no longer cry, which most likely is the reason for her stone cold attitude.

I don't have a problem with more than one person suggesting additions. Fool and I can edit in stuff. I think that's how I initially figured it would be. However, you have Urahara. So if you want to add to Ichigo you need to let someone else do Urahara

We discussed how we should handle characters who inhabit both worlds and decided to do it this way.
