I thought we were supposed to be getting some backstory on Isshin, and this looked like it was turning in that direction.  So why is Juushiro being put in a "bad guy" spotlight now?  Does Kubo ever remember his promises to his fans anymore?  :smileyindifferent:

Also this explains why Ichigo was barely strong enough to fight Ulquiorra and Grimmjow. Plus why his attack barely did **beast** when he attack the 0 Espada despite Byakuya and Kenpachi being able to slice through him with ease.

Ichigo is easily explainable because he met a member of Ukitakes Squad-- the other guy not so sure. But Ukitake actions seem reasonable to me-- you can't have someone with tremendous power to run around creating havoc with no limiter on him, some control had to be had or else eliminated. I was looking forward to having some evidence that the ss is evil but this is just prudence. Ichigo wants to fight for them-- so what's the problem

yea, i pretty much agree with this. i didn't see anything bad about what they did.

They could have told Ichigo that it would let him track him so that they know if something bad happens to him and that it would keep his power sealed when he's human so that it wouldn't harm those around him.

Ichigo could understand it if they told him that since he wouldn't want his powers harming his friends. Not telling him is suspicious especially when Aizen and Urahara have talked about that which is implied ot be the Soul King and that something is wrong with it and anything wrong with the ruler means there's something wrong with the Soul Society itself.

Also Soul Society employs Mayuri who blows up his own men. Seriously I don't get why people don't see Soul Society as being suspicious.

Spoiler
They probably wouldn't even give Ichigo his powers back unless it benefited them.

So Ukitake, the most peace loving man in the soul society, came up with a plan to limit unfathomable strength and monitor him to make sure he doesn't go rogue?

Makes sense to me V_V

Of course they should of told him, I don't think anyone is disputing that. It's just that Kubo is writing this as if it's a huge dramatic reveal when it's not really that big of a deal. I'm kind of hoping Ichigo is just angry because Ginjo won't shut up, and will be all "And your point is?" about this. He was pretty chill about all the **beast** Urahara kept from him during the SS arc, and that was a much bigger deal.

Soul Society is extremely corrupt and is in desperate need of some radical change. Even some of the supposed "good guys" amongst them like Shunsui and Ukitake are hypocrites who were willing to stand up for Rukia but turn a blind eye to all the other atrocities that SS commits.

But none of that is really the point here as in this particular case, SS was doing a logical thing and Ginjo is blowing it way out of proportion. As for him being like this because they tried to capture him, it's possible. But considering he says that they let you run off with a badge even if you AREN'T trustworthy he must of done something to warrant their action. Given his personality that's very easy to believe.

Actually it is as I've said in someof my above posts. Several of the fights with his life on the line they more than likely restricted his powers. If he realized that when he was trying to save his friends using all his might that the Soul Society had been limiting his powers he'll be pissed.

I was under the impression it mainly effected him when he was in human form.

It wouldn't really make a lot of sense for it to be limiting him at other times. Soul Society was actively on his side at the beginning/later half of the Arrancar arc, and we never saw any indication he received power back. Even when Unohana came for him and specifically said they were betting everything on him versus Aizen.

Yeah this really isn't much of a shocker at all, Kubo's doing a lousy job of trying to play things up. The only way it could be shocking is if his power were restricted for some kind of nefarious reason.

I wonder which way Kubo will go with this.

He could go the whole "You hurt my friends, so you come first whether you're telling the truth or not you have to be dealt with."

At this point he could straight up kill Ginjou or he could steal his power away from him and kick him to the curb beaten and broken.

Yukio revealed that fullbringers can share power among themselves. Ichigo has an ounce of fullbring left, so he could just rip ginjou's powers out of him through impalement, a favorite of Kubo's for power transfer. I doubt Kubo had Yukio say that just so that the box would remain intact.

Maybe Ichigo will show some maturity and realize that it isn't as big of a deal and shrug him off as he does it.

"Hold on. So in my mind, this jacked-up, sideways ridiculousness is the normal state?"

Uryuu is just as guilty. He has had a suspicion about it, and did not even bother to tell Ichigo of said suspicion.
