Episode 206
Whoo boy. Lot's of things to say this week.
Definitely worthwhile waiting for the TBTP Arc to be animated. The fact that they kept making semi-fillers into a canonical area of the story is interesting, and one might say, horrendous, on the part of the studio. Everyone was waiting for the soccer story to end last week, and WHAT do we get after that? The only way I'd feel even slightly comfortable is if Kubo had written this new material, or if he had the final word on it. In this case, how do the writers know what's okay to write and what's not?
I mean, for some filler elements here and there, this isn't badly written. I'd say the worst part was the montage of Soifon going so far as to follow Kisuke around and writting notes on it afterward, only to be horribly mistaken by her idol. I relate to Soifon in this position in fact. Those two girls do NOT communicate well, do they? Who's idea was it to make her her assistant? It really explains how Soifon grew into what she is now, and also sheds some light on the relationship between the three.
Kisuke had a lot of funny moments in this episode. Hiyori's pokin', Rose's chokin', Lisa's smokin'. 
Who's voice was it narrating over the super-cool 3D graphics in the beginning? I'd say it was Shunshi, but the voice didn't sound like him.
And... the Shinigami Cup. They told us last episode that Ichigo would be shown in the omakes during this Arc, but I simply thought it would be yet another continuation of them trying to read the sign over the shop! Nope. Rukia's back, and taking over! Awesome!
