Bleach is the new Inuyasha. ![]()
There is no way the manga will finish in time to allow the anime to have a "real" ending. Maybe there will be a continuation eventually...

Wow, and not only that, it's going to be replaced with the Rock Lee spin-off. I had no idea that was being animated. Still, it's more entertaining than Bleach has been in years, so I'm game...

Bleach has been the new InuYasha for half a decade, this only cements it's place at least until Bleach: The Final Act inevitably graces Japanese television, then the circle will truly be complete.
We're 100 or so episodes behind Japan as far as the dub goes but I am a bit concerned that an abrupt ending will make Bleach less desirable to Adult Swim, if Bleach's ratings start slipping significantly they might pull the plug early knowing there is no ending in sight. I don't suspect that will occur at least until the end of the current canon arc which we are currently waiting to continue and that should last until at least mid 2013 at the rate of one episode a week. But if viewers start losing interest as Tite Kubo's trolling becomes all the more apparent pulling Bleach early wont be out of the question for Adult Swim.

i think this is my fault.
in the posts about the manga ending i said that "since the manga was ending the anime was going to end too"
so bleach is going to end at 16 seasons...huh
i WOULD have ended with aizens defeat
and the only filler that i would have put into the anime was the zanpakutu war (no toju arc ). i would have put it in the bounts place as inserted filler, aside from all that no other filler would be in. and that would have ended the anime at (with the series ending at aizens defeat and zanpakutu canon-ish filler) 230 episodes

Looked closely at the article again. There's no confirmation that Bleach will end in this article- it's just deleted from that particular slot in the TV schedule and they just haven't made it clear that the show would be moved to another timeslot, which is odd. I would doubt a sudden end like this would happen to among the longest-running shonen animes, in a country that takes pride in seeing a long-runner all the way through.
Here, the Crunchyroll article makes it sound more ambiguous.
Am I probably being optimistic for no reason? Not really. I got into Bleach when it first aired on [as] in 2006, and tha was also the year I moved into my own place finally, and I been watching it every week since. I also watched the other anime on [as], SyFy and the FUnimation Channel. ..... now guess what? SyFy got rid of their anime in 2011, Verizon will drop Funimation on March 15th which already takes up a good portion of my TV watching, and now i hear this?!!!

Uh.... no. We did NOT know this was coming. .... the only reason I would possibly justify being a reason for this move is that Bleach has had too many fillers, and that's not entirely a cause!

Tell you the truth? I had NO IDEA Naruto had a spin-off! But I should've guessed. Bleach has been Naruto's #### ever since the fans got hold of its popularity and the animation studio seemed to hold off on their real talent for that show!
This is my fifth time editing this post. Reading this news not only makes me sad like the rest of you, but incredibly angry. If [as] drops Bleach, I will stop going to this forum! I can't have any reminders of what once was!

well we do know that the manga is in its last arc.
i dont like the idea of bleach doing a inuyasha/naruto but theres nothing i can do about it.
but know this for sure: hardcore bleach fans will hound tite kubo for answers concerning this little piece of shockery

That's a 5 week notice, So short. Is that typical at all?
I can't read Japanese but the English article makes mention of it ending its run at 6P, not that it's undergoing its series finale. Could it be a break in its season?

I doubt it. The Japanese generally try to avoid breaks in anime because the competition for airtime is very high and another show will simply take its place, making it difficult for it to come back.
This is most likely a case of the book failing to make it clear that Bleach is simply shifting it's timeslot instead of ending at all.

Blehhh, I got stuff to do today. I don't need this "SHOCKING" anime news distracting me, but I'll still "weigh in":
At least Adult Swim will start being caught up by 1 week starting on April 1! Maybe at this rate, by the time Bleach gets back on the air (as "Bleach: Final Act" or something), the gap between AS and JP will be just barely narrow enough for the dubbing to continue without a beat.
And hopefully the Live Action adaptation is enough to convince Adult Swim to just keep on truckin' with it through the Fullbring arc...
Or, as Hollywood proves time and again, the live-action Bleach film will bomb massively enough for [as] to abandon anime all together.
Also, April 1st happens to ALSO be ...... APRIL 1ST, and you know what happens on [as] on April 1st!

Filler the doom of all Shounen anime.
That is what I blame for this, and Bleach in all rights should have ended after the Soul Society arc as it was originally intended.
Or at the latest, Aizens end.
Filler is unavoidable. Japanese stations can't stop airing a long-runner because otherwise another show will take its place, making it very hard for it to come back on, not to mention how mangakas publish the issues SO SLOWLY so they can both retain quality and pay for their bills as long as possible, while the animation studios get dangerously close to the latest issue they're adapting. We've evolved to the point where it's difficult for a show to last!

Reason I said that is I remember reading some place that Kubo said Bleach was originally supposed to end at the Soul Society.
