I think this story came out a year or two ago. It was going to be a parody rather than an adaptation is what I heard.

Hey they did alright with Harry Potter, who is to say they can't make Bleach work?

Think about it. Bleach has an urban setting, focuses on fighting with weapons and is styalized in a way that it might not look ridiculous. They might have to truncate the Shinigami outfits to be well... more senisble for males and more sexy for girls but we all know Kubo loves western culture. Bleach is a heck of lot easier to work with than InuYasha or One Piece.

Bleach shares a great many similarities to Spider-Man's young hero gaining powers and learning to use them responsibly schtick. The Spider-Man vibe is what FOX wanted from Dragon Ball Evolution but failed to achieve it because Goku isn't anything like Peter Parker while Ichigo arguably is very much like Peter Parker.

It could end up campy as all get out but that doesn't mean it cannot be done well.

I'm not opposed to the idea and hopefully this will pressure Turner to give Bleach more air time.
