This new Kenpachi voice actor is horrible.  He sounds like a big dumb brutish oaf and a tenth as manly.  Kenpachi was supposed to sound savage, threatening, but also have some cunning and intelligence behind his voice.  This new guy has none of that.  You can tell the new actor is trying too hard to sound like that.  With the original actor, you could tell it very much came naturally.  

From what I can tell, this might be Patrick Seitz pulling double duty.  It seems that, as talented as he is, he just doesn't make a good Kenpachi.  Still, if it is Seitz, and since we're in filler which I understand is Kenpachi-heavy, maybe he'll improve enough to not suck by the time canon returns.  We can only hope.

What happened to the original Urahara and Kenpachi voice actors?  Why would you replace them with people who can't even fill their shoes?!

Kempachi isn't a dumb brute, he has tactics and intelligence. I also think that ben0119 is also correct, it seems that Patrick Seitz is the "new" kempachi voice actor. He is good at ichigo father, but he isn't able to do kempachi correctly.

Thanks, I noticed that no one else pointed that out.  I was planning on saying it anyway, but it's all the better I did since no one else said that.  

I really can't get over some of the lines.  They're just ridiculously goofy.  I can't remember most of them, at the moment, though, outside of the one I already mentioned. 

And yeah, Seitz did a good job in every other role, such as Masamori on Kekkaishi, Simon on DRRR, Isshin on Bleach, etc... but for some reason, even he can't be badass enough to be Kenpachi.  I hope he improves by the time canon returns, but I don't know... this just... isn't working at all, and it didn't get any better as the episode went along tonight, either.

In any case, the Sado voice actor change was only temporary, and during the dreaded Unspeakable Arc which I did not watch much of, so I never noticed it.  But, he went back to his old voice quickly enough.  I thought this issue had been decided and buried, already...

No, it's not.  It's best for you, so you can wave your e-peen around and feel more important and rack up the replies, attention, and other various stats.

We had one complaint thread.  It was a good one, made by udsha, an intelligent, literate ASMBer that I respect.  The thread was about the crappy new Kenpachi VA and served its purpose well.  It's not our fault that blind noobs made their own threads after that, and that certainly doesn't justify you asking the mods to lock his and other's threads because you deemed yours "the thread to end all threads" and so much better than theirs.  

Udsha will not be pleased that you had his thread locked.  I thought only makers of their own threads could decide such things, yet you get the mods to mess with someone else's thread... wtf.

And yes, the mods did have something to do with it, because you went behind our backs and had them lock the threads.  It's seriously unnecessary and just stirs up more shit, just so you can feel like you're important and "solving a problem" and "helping".  Pfft.  We had a good thread going, then you make another one... adding to the problem, then retroactively say OH THIS IS THE RIGHT THREAD TO POST IN GUYS GO POST IN MY THREAD.  Ugh.. -_- 

Oh, and this thread also has the extremely annoying bitching that subbies do about any English voice actor because you didn't specify the complaints be about English voice actors changing to another English voice actor.  Yeah, I really wanted more of that.  That, which was completely gone from the boards until you gave them this thread to complain in and reminded them about all the English voices they hate, even though most of them can't understand Japanese and can't properly judge the original performances anyway.  Logic, it exists not here.  

And no, I don't think it will cut down or prevent them from complaining about a new English VA that doesn't fit their fancy in the episode threads, and it won't stop noobs from making countless complaint threads in the future, either.  Your thread isn't going to magically act as a barrier to keep people from doing stupid crap.

Personally, I would have locked all the other threads and just directed people to udsha's thread, since his was first.  I'm also not the only person that pointed out the ridiculousness, ludicrousness, and sheer audacity of you telling us to go post in a new thread you just made, when udsha's thread was made first and we were already at home there.

It's also worth noting that there's also already an "Offical Complain about the Dub" thread, or something similarly titled, so that's where the subbies should be complaining about dub actors being lesser humans than their precious "Seiyuu", not here.

This thread title is an abomination. It implies hate, there is no hate, just doing such a drastic change of kenpachi voice changes his character completely. Such a change of a main character without any attempt to get a voice that fits the prior version of kenpachi voice that all the fans were used to is unforgivable.

To move our legitimate comments to a "one thread fits all hate thread edition" is wrong.

Our comments were about the kenpachi change, not hate, not about "voice actor changes".

Urahara, kiske, and chad did sound similar, and were in character with the originals. Kenpachi is not similiar at all. COMPLETELY different.

This is the studio responisble for chosing to pick Patrick Seitz ---- who they already have as a voice actor for ishin kurosaki--- as the "best" to replace kenpachi. I have to wonder if they even cared enough to find someone that could ACTUALLY do the kenpachi voice, tone, and mannerisms.

A larger website that is devoted to convincing them to change their poor poor choice is ideal.

But instead of posting in this dead end, thread that was designed to herd all of us into a catch all thread to be forgotten, we should be putting as much pressure on adult swim, and viz media to get this insult to fans fixed.

How can you say that? Kenpachi isnt even in the title, and the title is about "HATE"...

this isnt about hate, this is about viz media allowing one of the main characters of bleach to be completely altered for the worse.

It is sooo much easier to silence everyone that cares about this issue when it it burried in 4 page long post that has no mention of kenpachi, and talks about "HATE"

Why would anyone hate the voice actors?

Dislike that the voice of kenpachi was destroyed, is a reasonable feeling. The voice actor did nothing wrong, but patrick seltz cannot do kenpachi voice justice.

Viz media was wrong to not try to find a suitable replacement. Adult swim was wrong to allow them to get away with it. Taking one voice actor and (forcing) having him do doubletime, is not acceptable.

its a voice actor if he's doesn't want to voice him let him have his choice
