Anime, as a whole, is generally disappointing to watch, and I understand why Adult Swim relegated it from nightly to saturdays only, with the emergence of new shows being less frequent. The character development is typically excessively slow, the storyline gets too complex or doesn't make sense, and the action is generally unappealing. I'll give a show a couple episodes to see if it can hook me, but with the exception of a very very short list of shows, of which the headliner is "Case Closed", I can't keep watching. To each their own, but anime, as a general rule, isn't something I can stay with long enough to enjoy or care about.
Being said, I finished episode 50 yesterday, and it pleases me to say that Blood+ has garnered a coveted spot on the very very short list of anime that I can say I truly enjoy. It was fantastic.
