Drawn Together is one of the most hackneyed, desperate excuses for "edgy" comedy I've ever seen. And jealousy doesn't enter into this, unless you count Comedy Central's jealousy over Adult Swim's success.

Either I didn't catch them all or [as] can't count, but I only counted 39 'bleeps' from the "Standards & Practices memo" bump.  :smileyindifferent:

Yes, I counted.

:smileysurprised:

Did any of them have a number in ( ) after them? Maybe that's where the lost numbers are...

Or it could be another deliberate error to see if people are paying any attention. Now I'm going to be wondering about that too. :smileyindifferent: I have no life. :smileyvery-happy:

Nope and I've almost worn the tape out going back over it to see if there are any times I missed.  (I typed them out.)

Plus, the "42 is the meaning of life" could be a reference to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and they just wanted to throw it in to promote The Boondocks in some mystical way.  Or....something.  I know not the minds of [as].  It's very possible that it was deliberate.

It's definitely a Hitchhiker's reference.  A lot of nerds (including myself) love that book.

I don't know if it's the nerd's bible, but it's definitely a nerd's "must read" :smileyhappy: I never laughed out loud so much while reading a book before. .... or since for that matter...

So, last night there was a bump with the joke "how many surrealists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?" with the answer as "a fish" but I've always believed the answer to be "a chair." I'm just putting that option out there for you since a chair kind of ties to the situation. Then again, I guess a lot of times a fish *does* come into play when changing a lightbulb, now that I think about it. Okay, nevermind. Fish makes sense too.

The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy - the only official "trilogy" to contain 5 books in the series (according to the insert that came with the original set I had way back when). :smileyvery-happy:  42 as the ultimate answer and comments about always bringing a towel are Hitchhiker references. :smileywink:

Deliberate mistake, accidental mistake or a Boondocks pimp...or maybe whatever those extra numbers were about were eventually left on the cutting room floor in edit anyway...hmmm...

As for the whole swipe against Drawn Together (I'm combining posts here instead of posting over and over again :smileywink: ), I think the show is funny but at the same time it doesn't take a whole lot of thought to get some of the jokes. It's simply sexual gross-out humor a lot of the time and if someone sat down and watched all the episodes back to back, they could write the scripts for the next season in their sleep. Plus, what other American-made cartoon could [as] take a swipe at that people would recognize? By mentioning it, the ratings for Drawn Together might just spike briefly while people decide for themselves whether it's funny or not. Good thing or bad, you be the judge. :smileywink:

A moment of enlightenment by [cannedheads]

We will march hand and hand to the sounds of a forsaken drum. A damning rhythm of how we live our lives, the condemned beating of midnight television. We are united here day to day in hopes of laughter, some meek hope of release from our repetitive nature. How cruel a world we live. Thank you [as]... We will watch and we will respond...

nah I'm just playin... but really, rock on

Dear Adult Swim,

A recent bump asked if American animation had to be funny. The answer was NO and then cited Drawn Together as an example.

This was no suprise coming from those guilty for Tom Goes to the Mayor. Did someone down there owe a gambling debt? Seriously.

Thank you.

ps. Thank you for Morel Orel. Adult Swim is saved.

I can say that because I believe it's true. Shock value for shock value's sake is the last resort of the comedy writer. Unless there's some kind of satirical point to be made, all you're doing is pushing buttons needlessly.
