Well, actually just like all the live action shows on AS, they intend to spend the first ten or twelve seasons building the characters and backstory before they try any real jokes.  Sorry for the confusion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!​!

You shouldn't because like all the other live action shows it shouldn't be on adult swim at all. T&E and all their friends know people in the network, so even though the shows aren't funny they get aired. It's lame and it should stop.

This show kind of comes from a different angle than Tim and Eric IMO. It's making fun of the same sort of things, but it sort of plays itself like an 11 minute public access clip instead of a bunch of small unrelated sketches. So in that regard I think the show flows better than Tim and Eric. So yeah, there's absolutely no reason for you to watch this (or any show) if you don't enjoy it, but I think it's somewhat different than Tim and Eric at least.

Steve Brule is a character who isn't predictable with his actions. You're actually trying to figure out what's going on in his head, and other times just enjoying the scene. It's a great show, and John C. Reilly has great credibility as an actor.

In case of every not understanding it:

The show is a parody of all the 80's-90's cheap video / low budget public access cable specials all on 2nd rate recording quality VHS-tapes.

All of it is supposed to be like what you find in a Goodwill store or Salvation Army shop.

It's about recent oldschool culture, the Chuck Norris era, always cool but on old and rotting VHS tapes.

Check It out is actually much better than almost tha entire Saturday lineup. I wish they would make it into a 30 min show.

im not trying to figure out a #### thing, and in season 1 i WAS optimistic about the show, because the steve brule segments on T&E where kinda funny, but this is just dry, and its because it plays out like a public tv channel news show, it isnt funny to me, maybe its because im completely sober while watching. a friend once told me "if your show has a rep for only being funny when people are high, its probably not funny, because watching paint dry is funny to them".
