so I was looking at pictures of the dvd (I haven't seen much of the show, but i'm considering getting it) & I noticed that there's no [adult swim] logo anywhere on it. I thought it was a bit bizarre because all of their other dvds have it. anyone know why this is? apologies if its been brought up before.

When the show started, it was a bunch of web shorts produced by TheWB.com, so Warner Bros. retains the merchandising.

Which is why Madman Entertainment, an Australian DVD distribution company that releases AS DVDs, couldn't release the Childrens Hospital DVD and I had to get it off Amazon.

I would recommend watching some episodes up on the Video section right now before buying the DVD:

"Chet Episode" might require some previous experience with the show, so I'd skip that one if I were a first-timer.
It also airs Thursdays at 12:15 Eastern.

I would say that CH is my favorite AS live action program since Tim and Eric. But don't make decisions based on what I like, because I like a wide variety of stuff.

For me, there are two main reasons why I love this show. First, there are a boatload of subtle and not-so-subtle gags, and it takes multiple viewings to catch them all. The jokes are both in your face and beneath the surface. Some of the gags deserve an eyeroll, but it's the kind of endearing eyeroll you give your BFF or something. Second, the show has deliberately shaky continuity. They utilize the continuity when it's convenient, then dump it the next episode if it's more convenient. It's a great show for fans because of the number of callbacks to earlier episodes and how the show grows within its own weird universe.

I think it's a more accessible show to casual viewers. It's definitely not as esoteric as, say, Tim and Eric or The Heart, She Holler. It's a hospital show parody, after all. Going into this show, I was a little skeptical about how I would like a show like that, but I was really surprised. It tickled my funny bone, because I appreciate some of the deliberately bad jokes. If it doesn't end up tickling yours, that's fine. Watch some episodes and find out.

ty for the reply. so I bought it. absolutely brilliant. I was surprised by how good it was. a lot of very clever subtle jokes/gags as you mentioned, & the awkward continuity was used very well.

I laughed the most at "phil time for 20 seconds" or the "what does it look like? a hammer!" gag. 

special features are dreadful though. the cutter spindell doc reeks of tim & eric style irony which didn't really work.

I was also skeptical of it, but because of how underwhelming NTSF was, & how they were sort of linked together.
