All of the animal forms were hilarious. I had a lot of fun watching this episode.

This has been the best China, Il yet! I laughed out loud several times. I must admit that I was a bit dubious at first as to wether or not Brad Neely's stuff could be done justice on any network, but I'm now sold!

This episode has drawn me into the series. Those 15 or so minutes had me mesmerized, what more can I say?

The first four episodes of the series were adequate; they never put me into stitches but they were amusing.  This episode, on the other hand, was a homerun, a riot - it had me laughing throughout. 

Everything from Frank as a backwards-hat-wearing-student listening to headphones plugged into nothing disrupting the class by screaming, "JUMP IN P|SS, TEACH!", to baby cakes revealing that his animal self is actually a moose.

Well done, Brad Neely & company.  Well done.

Glad you liked the fight. When we were reading the script, I knew I wanted to board that portion, and got to. After some difficulties establishing the interior, due to the catwalks and circular shaped room, as well as 5 versions of the cat/projector gag, it started coming together. I added in all the stuff with the elephant being pulled over, and it caused the scene to be way longer than it was supposed to, but Brad liked it enough that he wanted to keep it all. It's probably one of my favorite board sequences, if not my favorite. Frank's dance at the prom might be my favorite. It's tough to choose.

What's the difference between boarding and animating?

Boarding is one of the first steps. Animating is one of the last. Storyboards involve setting up all the shots, blocking the characters out, posing them, and making sure each shot flows into the next. It's basically a blueprint for an episode. They're timed to the audio and you can see how an episode will play out.

There's a step in-between called layout. Background layout and character layout take each shot, draw tighter versions of the chars/BGs based on the boards, and then they're sent to the animators.

The animators take the layouts and animate the characters within the scene. They animate scenes shot by shot. A lot of shows animate scenes based on exposure sheets, which instruct the animators how to properly time out the scenes. China IL doesn't do that. Animators time their own scenes.
