Welcome to the wonderful world of Code Geass : Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass : R2, [adult swim]'s main anime acquisition starting in early '08!

Like many such worlds, it's got a massive population of people and items of interest. This board can be pretty daunting considering the amounts of info that are out there, especially if you're new to the CG board, so in the following posts below you will find a handy-dandy directory of quick-click links to the various FanClub threads as well as to some threads of general interest.

In the interest of trying to keep spoilers to a minimum, FanClub thread links have been divided into characters appearing in season one and season two and kept in separate posts. For those of you totally caught up with series, you may also notice that some characters that appeared at the end of season one are listed in the season two post instead. This has also been done to try to keep spoiling low especially since brief summaries of the threads in the Directory have been included to help people find what / who they are looking for if they don't quite know what / who they are looking for.

Some threads that you won't find listed but they exist in massive quantities:

- Lelouch vs Light / Light vs Lelouch - the Code Geass and Death Note comparisons : they exist. All over the place. Great thread idea and great discussion potential but they are everywhere, people tend to focus on how many of them there are and less on the discussion potentials which ruins the fun factor for everyone. There's usually one within the first couple of pages of the board at any given moment so check first.

- U haz Geass powers threads : much like the DN comparison threads, these exist in mass quantities too.  Again, it's a fun thread idea with tons of potential but people sadly burn out pretty fast on them, especially when there's three+ on the first page alone. So check first before making that novel geass powers thread.

People are asked to be on the lookout for the horrible "in b4 lock" virus when faced with these types of threads. It's a nasty little thing that derails even the most well-intentioned threads and makes newbies cry. We were all new to the internet once upon a time so let's be the first show board ever to stomp out this dreaded board virus.

And now for the Horrible Terrible No-Good Rules Stuff:

- "There can be only one!" Usually. Make only one Fan Club Thread for each character in Code Geass, please. If one already exists then please use the existing one. Duplicates can and will be locked and / or merged with an earlier existing one. There are few exceptions as some spoiler threads end up doubling as character FCs and vice versa but try to stick within the rules of using an existing FC before tossing up one of your own.

- Please mark all spoilers. -Especially- if you are in a thread where spoilers haven't been explicitly allowed. A spoiler is anything that hasn't aired on the tv block yet or a Character's Death. This goes for thread titles too - nothing will kill your thread [and possibly your account] faster than malicious spoilery titles. Not even the [spoiler] tag will save you then.

• The basic spoiler kill code [done in the HTML editor] is <font style="background:black; color:black">type your spoilers here</font>  This will black out the words similar to highlighting them in the graphical editor and choosing the blackest color on the color chart. But it isn't quote-proof, just a quick kill for those of us with HTML issues.
   
• Advanced ninja black-box spoiler kill code [done in the HTML editor] is <strong style="color:#232323; background-color:#232323; font-weight:normal;">spoilers</strong>  This black-boxes the spoiler completely and is quote-proof.

- Do not link to nudies, porn, or hentai type pics. That applies to both female and male characters, and drawn art and live-action photos because we equal opportunity prudes here.  This is an [adult swim] Message Board Terms of Service thing and any blatant acts of the naughty nature can bring down the wrath of Mod. Banstick rashes are never pretty. Due to the lines that Code Geass tends to hit a lot, there's a lot of pics out there that ride the line too closely. If you have a pic that you aren't sure of where it would fall on the board's general guidelines, you can always ask a Mod in the floated thread in Forum / Site Support by posting the link in question and then immediately editing the link out but leaving your query. Mods can see edits and will be able to give you an honest opinion free of banstick. Or if the meany Moddies scare you, you can also PM your link in question to the CG HELPeR creature [which is myself currently] and I'll let you know if it would disappear.

- Keep the chats and "fangirlism / boyism" messages to a minimum since threads will be at a risk of lock or deletion if there is no actual discussion in them. Chat and spam will not help your favorite thread[s] . It will kill them. Chat is any little thing that you could just as easily be saying over an IM program [and probably should be] . Chat is back-n-forth off-topic that never seems to end. Chat / spam is towering quote hourglasses o' DOOM! that serve little to no purpose in the existence of the thread [especially when they stretch the boards like a sumo in a bikini] . Spam is posting the same thing over and over and over again, especially if it has nothing to do with the topic of the thread.

- Please remember to play nice. All opinions are welcome in the CG board and that could very easily include opinions that you don't like in the least. While the board itself is more geared for the fans of the show [as it technically should be] , constructive criticism is also welcome. Remember, the board is too small for a troll to thrive in anonymity for long and anyone that crosses the line from contributing poster to troll is quite likely to be dealt with by act of Mod. That goes for trolling the trolls too.

That should hopefully cover all the basics in a delightful "too long; didn't read" format. Now on to the real important part of the Directory...

** It should be noted that inclusion or exclusion of any thread in the Directory itself is not license to be used to squish other discussion threads that might pop up on a particular topic. The board should be big enough for everyone to enjoy without it ending up being confined to only a few threads of "official-ness" .
