Like what?  I've seen the gif or short vid where someone edited his fast on to the driver but thats all I've seen.  I'd be interested to see if they dropped off more clues that me might be alive, though I kinda hope he isn't because it would cheapen the ending for me a bit.

Okouchi (the head writer of Code Geass) has said in no uncertain terms that Lelouch is dead...period.

Taniguchi, (the director) has said the ending was left up to the audience to decide, but concurred that Lelouch was dead (sort of).

Sunrise producer Yoshitaka Kawaguchi, said that "Lelouch may have died?  But, Geass will go on" (from the Jan issue of Newtype 2010).

Therefore, I can only conclude that to Okouchi, Lelouch's story is over.

Taniguichi hasn't decided yet.

And Kawaguchi is saying "not so fast...he's only mostly dead." :smileywink:

PS: I can't believe the censor software here actually blocked out Yoshitaka's name

Oh, I think Lelouch will come back.  After this new series comes out, I wouldn't be surprised if Sunrise decides to go back to the original story.  After all, it's not really about what any of those people say.  They don't own the rights to Code Geass.  Sunrise does.  If they want to replace those people with new ones and continue Lelouch's story, they will.

I hated it. They should have blown Lelouch to bits, on camera, with nothing for anyone to twist around into him being alive...

If that's the case, why not take all the people more guilty than him down with him?

Better yet, how about just avoid the Zero Requiem and have him live on as a legit leader instead?

On one hand, I'd like to see Lelouch alive for certain (I believe he survived the staged assassination) and just watch him enjoy the product of his sacrifices and hard work. On the other hand, I'm afraid that if they do continue with that story, after everything has been resolved, it'll get to the point where everything will have been exhausted and just detract from the story, which a series as amazing as this does not deserve... at all; if an increase means a compromise in quality, then I'd rather be left with less.

But then again, who doesn't mind spending more time with characters that they've come to love? :smileywink:

A valid point.  I'd hate it to end up like some of those shows that never end.

But I still want to see Lelouch come back (and confirm our suspicions that he was alive and well).  Maybe a movie would work.  It brings everybody back for one last hurrah and ends before staleness sets in.  As long as it ends with Lelouch firmly alive.

Same. Some series can kind of get away with more episodes, depending on the plot (and even those get irritating after some time)... For a story like this, though, where everything is quickly changing and at a critical point that could lead to one or two significant outcomes, it'd be pointless to drag it on or repeat plot elements and just ruin the story. Actually, I'd much prefer a movie as well, since it would kind of add an extra special feeling to it... I don't know... When you hear about a movie coming from a popular franchise- provided that it's good, like this- there's an additional level of excitement; at least, that's how I feel. Like you said, though, it should be enough material to bring everyone in and return to/continue the plot without ruining everything.

And honestly, if Lelouch weren't alive in such a story, I'd be miffed beyond words. I don't even know what to say with that prospect in mind...

If they didn't have Lelouch in it, I might not watch it.  Lelouch was my favorite character and one of the big reasons I watched the series.

Same here but who knows with Akito the Exile possibly second guessing Sunrise they may throw Lelouch in there indirectly....... here's wishful thinking.

It's still a toss-up for me concerning that.  For me, the main draw was the Geass power and how Lelouch used it.  The battles were nice, but not the main attraction for me.

From what I've heard, this new one seems to be more about battles.  I haven't heard any mention of Geass being in it at all.

There's a high indication that the Blond Britannian girl by the name of Layla is said to possibly have geass. Considering in the trailer she was hold her hand up to her eye

Well, they better have some Geass.  That's the title of the show, after all.  But is a simple hand gesture a "high indication"?

Well maybe "high" was an exaggeration but nevertheless an indication

Same. He was definitely my favorite in the series (ok fine... second to Euphie, just because she's a total sweetheart... I'd have said the same about Nunnally, but the last few episodes kind of changed my mind) and one of my most favorite characters in general. If Lelouch isn't there, then my main motivation for watching will have disappeared.

I hope so too! :smileyhappy: Umm... But here's the thing- and correct me if I'm wrong, which i hope I am- but I think I read somewhere that "Akito the Exile" takes place during R1, so that will definitely be before Zero Requiem will have taken place. I don't even think that Lelouch will play an important role, unfortunately, since it's just a story that contains many parallels... But who knows? Maybe I'm wrong...

Like I said it's sunrise just because they claim what to be, doesn't mean they won't surprise us and pull something. Maybe have Zero help out the EU behind the scenes with his glorious chess simulations.

Yeah, it takes place while Lelouch is running around as Zero in season 1.  So you won't see any of the characters you like.  Maybe Schneizel since he was dealing with the EU for a lot of season 1.  I'm sure we'll hear references to the Black Knights or maybe see random news footage of them.  But probably not more than that.
