 my thought is its a speicial flame made for c.c and others like her

 It is not a special flame.  Purple flames really do exist.  It is the color they choose to use KMnO4 and Glycerin, because that is what the creators wanted.

It could be that the chemicals used to create the flame made it hotter or something and that's why it was used.
