Curb Your Enthusiasm: Official Discussion

This is the greatest show of all time starring larry david.

you know, the guy from seinfeld?

Well, if you are a fan of Tom Goes to the Mayor, or......any other sick sadistic show like that, then this is your show.

Every episode Larry has some misunderstanding with someone. They think he did something terrible, and he thinks 1) he didn't do it and 2) its not a bad thing anyway. He spends his time explaining why he does these things, and in the end he **hahaha**s it up.

He is fowl-mouthed, and neurotic: a deadly combo to his chances of ever being cool, or liked, even by his best freinds.

so whatdid you think of the latest season
the Blacks really spiced things up didnt they?

I've never seen this how. I've always gathered that it took the talent side of Seinfeld with it when Larry David stopped writing for the show but because it aired on premium cable, there wasn't any possibility for me to catch it. Now I have so many other series I want to get into I couldn't backtrack to pick this up.

First Darkplace and now Curb is being compared to Tim & Eric, just because you like a particular show, doesn't mean they are even remotely in the same category/class/genre/league. Curb stand on it's own, let's leave it at that and not sully greatness.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is probably one of my favorite shows ever. It made me laugh out loud on a regular basis. I don't understand why it was ever cancelled.

It wasn't cancelled. Not sure about if it's coming back next season or not (that's up to Larry David), but it was definitely not cancelled. Rejoice! :manvery-happy:

Definitely in my all-time favorite shows list. I still haven't seen season 5, I'm waiting for the DVD as I don't get HBO. How did you like it compared to the other season, Ex?

@TinyJoseph, just because you don't see the similarities that others do doesn't make a show not similar in someone else's mind :smileytongue: People connect things together for all sorts of reasons, none more right or wrong than any others. Haven't you ever seen the "Hamburger" episode of T&E Awesome Show?

You could make a case that they are both shows with and about uncomfortable humour, but even that's stretching it I think. I'd compare Tim & Eric to Kids in the Hall before Curb and no I haven't seen that Burger Ep, just watched the one with Rob Zombie (the only reason I watched it) and then log on to the boards and find out it was a Rob Zombie impersonator, GRRRR!

That's funny. Raz4Life. But anyway, on "Hamburger," they used the CYE theme music and some incidental music from the show as well. Just another connection. Also, I sort of see where you're coming from w/the KITH comparison, especially with the office type humor of the Carol sketch.

I haven't  watched Curb... since season 2 or 3  The one where he was with a little girl in a bathroom and he had a bottle of water in his pants.
I enjoyed the show but the next season was late, then I had my HBO canceled to cut down on costs. And now I have HBO back but haven't had the time to watch
Is it still good?  I loved the bits with Wanda Sykes.

to answer Josephs question
i think season 6 was much funnier. The whole richard lewis thing was a good season, i think it was the 5th he needed a kidney, not too sure.
I actually never watched it until recently, i began fervently recording the show every night to get caught up, as it played in order, but i am investing in the dvds asap

to Tiny Joseph, i think you misread my first post. i said TGTTM. not Tim and Eric awesome show or Tim and Eric themselves. I meant Tom goes to the mayor, because of the schadenfruede thing going on in there. I think it was majikthise who told me its not the same, because Larry brings it on himself. However i think alot of it is not Larry's fault, and i think Tom peters is not a perfect being himself either.

its great, i don't think wanda is around as much.
Cheryl decided to let a black family of 3 stay at their house. They also bring the grandma, and the the ladies brother(leon)
then cheryl leaves Larry, so its just Larry and the blacks.

i hope they keep with this storyline because Larry gets with the girl after cheryl left, and the season was left off with Larry living happily ever after with them. Leon is the girls brother, and he is hilarious in the show i hope they stick around.

Dang, that rules. I'm way excited to see season 6 now. Yea season 5 was the whole kidney ordeal, that's actually when I started to watch it too. Then I got season 1-4 as AVI files from a friend. Then I went on a spree and bought seasons 1-5 on DVD last Christmas. Definitely look for some sales, those HBO DVDs can be expensive. I think they might be $20 each on Amazon.com right now.

Yea haha, that's true. I even see some similar story lines in the episodes. The structures are pretty similar too.
