Favorite Song

It's no secret that Cowboy Bebop has an amazing soundtrack. So what are your favorite songs featured in Cowboy Bebop?

"The Real Folk Blues" and "Tank!" are obviously two of my absolute favorites. But I also am in love with "Call Me Call Me." It makes me think of Ed and Ein and brings me to tears everytime i hear it because it was such a bittersweet episode. Also, with Jupiter Jazz being on recently, it made me remember how pretty I always thought "Goodnight Julia" was.

What do you guys think?

"Don't be ridiculous. You must have me mistaken for someone else. I didn't come here so we could paint each others' toe nails like it was some kind of slumber party. I came here to kick your ass." -Renji

Loly: "How did you get in here anyway?"
Grimmjow: "What do you mean how? Through the wall of course!"

Layin' down the jazz.

The Real Folk Blues is still better. Yoko Kanno is some kinda wonderful.

As of 12/12/2011, I am learning the ways of IB from Curlymafurly.
He can now legally wear monk clothes.

Famous people I've talked to: William Shatner, Ernie Harwell, LDK_SPARDA. Maybe more who matter less.

Oooh! That's a good one!

I absolutely love the fact that the music in this show is jazz. It's perfect for the mood of the show. And i agree, Yoko Kanno is a woman who knows how to do her job and do it well! :smileyhappy:

Goodnight Julia is my all time favorite song from Cowboy Bebop, but I also love Space Lion (of course) and Waste Land, Call Me Call Me, Adieu, Blue, and What Planet Is This!? from the movie just for that badass sax solo. Pretty much anything with sax in it I like. ^^

Hmm...would this explain your love for Gren? :smileywink: :smileyhappy:

Well...he is an awesome character, so your love for him is completely understandable. I also love the fact that you put that quote of his in your sig...it's a good one :smileyhappy:

I don't blame you. I'm always hearing quotes that i love, but have forgotten about, when i rewatch old episodes.

Is the original on iTunes? Because the versions I've seen on there are not good at all. Or are you saving up for Vitaminless? If I knew how to file transfer I'd send it to you because twenty bucks on Amazon is a bit much I think if you're only buying it for one song.

Waltz for Zizi   Little trivia, I'm pretty sure that it's the most used song in the show not including themes of any kind.

I don't know if I could pick other favorite songs, but my favorite music episodes (be it b/c of awesome songs, the way the music is used in the episode or a combination) are:

Ballad of Fallen Angels

Ganymede Elergy

Real Folk Blues pt. 2

Courage
Wisdom
Power

It's interesting to me that so many different songs have been mentioned. I guess I always figured everyone just loved Call Me Call Me and Tank! ^^ I guess there's something for everyone though, which is why it's such a great soundtrack.

with me it has just as much to do with the scene the song is in as it does the song itself. like with adieu: i love the way it plays into the episode title...

Very true. Goodnight Julia, Space Lion and Waste Land are all from Jupiter Jazz and they play during particularly poignant moments with Gren who's my favorite character, obviously. So they definitely stick with me the most.

Another thing that always surprises me is how varied different people's favorite episodes are. Mostly you hear Toys in the Attic, Mushroom Samba, or any one of the Spike-heavy episodes but every so often someone will say Gateway Shuffle or Brain Scratch or Boogie-Woogie Feng Shui. It makes me have to do a double take.

No, I'm saving up to get a new itunes gift card, and that's gonna be the first song I buy.I don't think the original is on itunes, I think just covers are. But a cover is better than nothing.

Oh I like those too. Brain Scratch is really good. "Papa!! My Papa!!"

Spike's just such an awesome character, that's why.

Of course my #1 fav ep is Mushroom Samba.

I'm bumping this so i can add Rain to my list. With Ballad of Fallen Angels airing on Saturday, i just had to do it. I had forgotten how perfectly it fits the scene of him going to meet Vicious in the church. Although i absolutely love both versions, i like how they used Mai Yamane's in the anime. But like i said, i don't really have a preference, so i downloaded both :smileyhappy:
