I'm still reading, just haven't commented in a while. I'm not feeling very motivated to be on the ASMB lately, so I have been posting selectively.

Good job on everything so far. It's interesting to watch your style transforming for the better with each panel. Are there any places you're drawing inspiration from?

Hmm, with like, locations and stuff?

Various places in Toronto and well, right now a little town outside of Hamilton.

Google maps has been kind of helpful in that I can get a good view of the streets and see what kind of places I think would fit the kind of settings and that. :smileyvery-happy:

(Actually part of the reason I took my weekend excursion to Toronto aside from going to celebrate Scott Pilgrim was to take some photos for reference of places. I saw a ton of great locations I'll probably end up using.)

And thanks for the compliment, by the way. :3

I kind of like where the art's going too... from the first page to the more recent pages there's a good deal of improvement and style changes, I think... for the better. :smileyhappy:

Thanks for reading!

(Also, loving the song quoted in your sig. Fleet Foxes<3)

Oh, I actually meant whether or not you were drawing inspiration from anime/comics, but the Toronto commentary provides just as much insight! I'm assuming Scott Pilgrim might give you some inklings here and there? (Like Dan? Even though you said he was a coincidence. :smileytongue:)

And, I'm giving you kudos for recognizing my song lyric. Fleet Foxes is just like... awesome. *gasms*

I get inspiration from lots of stuff.... Scott Pilgrim just happens to be really big right now... :smileyvery-happy:

Toronto's a nice city and I've always liked going there so I'm familiar with it, plus I used to live kind of like, right near it so when I was trying to think of a city to place it in, it ended up there.  I figured going with someplace I'm familiar with rather than going with someplace like Chicago or Boston or NYC (which has been done to death and I don't really know as well) which I'm not as familiar with would be harder and possibly more awkward 'cos it's like... well, sort of like when Americans write manga/stories/etc. that take place in Tokyo. :smileyvery-happy:

(Anyway, SP taking place in Toronto and its Canadian-ness is one of the many reasons I love it)

Speaking of again,  I really hope you guys don't compare Wallace and Dan too much. >_<

It's kind of like comparing Eureka to Rei.

FFFF, Oh wait.

I mean, at this point it's kind of hard to tell where the character is gonna go so it's easy to see why people (Proof. >:|) could think I totally blatantly ripped him off. But I promise, he's more than a snarky gay friend. Promise.

Inspiration from stuff... well, I've been reading some webcomics like hinabn and string theory and johnny wander which helpme sort of figure out what looks good with paneling/text bubble placement and that since I'm still kind of learning. So there'sprobably some inspiration from there? Oh, style wise hinabn is a prety hueg influence.

And I think I'm done rambling now. Heh.

I totally forgot I was on my alt.

You are strange... somehow you're responding to me, but it's not showing up on my tracker that my messages have been replied to. Stop doing illegal things, Hikky. :smileymad:

In all seriousness, you should probs submit this comic to [as] when it's all done (which will probably be a couple years, but I'd love to see your work animated and voiced and stuff - there's so much potential and you could be the animator). Okay, but seriously, I should stop overwhelming you with ridiculous suggestions and just admire and appreciate what you're doing now. haha

Toronto seems like such a nice place. I've never been, but I've always wanted to. It seems like such an underrated place to visit. Canada in general seems like a beautiful country all around.

Canada's like America with Tim Hortons everywhere and more pronounced vowels. True story.

(The bits in southern Ontario anyway. :smileyvery-happy:)

Tim Horton? Should I know who this is/will I kick myself when I realize who it is? :smileyvery-happy:

I wish I had a friend in real life who appreciated my happiness for them as much you do. This thread and Babbling are the extent of my social life, basically, and people I physically interact with are just indifferent, annoying, or mean. haha

If I'm ever in Toronto, I'll be sure to ask people if they know "Hikky." I'll probs end up in the direction of a pimp.

A new page!

In stunning black and white!

As I said in the comments there, gonna colour this when I stop being so tired.

(Which I've just hit my second wind and a couple glasses of coke should help with that)

but right now here's the lines to satisfy.

I figure you guys are used to reading black and white comics anyway, so hopefully the less than 24 hours of black and white won't kill yas.

atm i can't view the black and white page, keep getting "problem loading page", but i did prefer the black and white version for 'Common decency and what'. not sure how to put why i liked that better... i guess cause it looks clean, neat and the images somehow pop out at me more without the color(which is kinda odd, i'd think color would make them pop more lol).  i certainly don't dislike the color pages, they look great. but if i absolutely had to choose between them i would pick b&w.
