I figured with all the stories around this place, it might be nice to have a place where readers can recommend stories they liked for others to read. This folder has grown since it was born, and there are a lot of great stories in here, but some of them can be buried by the newer stories being made.

So, have you read anything that you would like to recommend others to read? Just post the name of the story, maybe a link to the story so it isn't hard to find, what the story is about, and why you liked it. Maybe add if the story is completed, continuing, or in hiatus if you want.

I should note this thread is for the use of the readers of the stories and those looking for a good story to read. Authors should not be pimping their own stories in this thread. The Fanfiction News Thread can be used for that.

There's a great "InuYasha" fanfic that I read called "Behind the Silk Screen" by eien-no-basho on fanfiction.net. It's extremely well written and the characterization is spot on and perfectly executed (very similar to that of the actual franchise). The story is also really interesting. In fact, it's the only fanfic that I'd ever recommend to anyone to read (but then again, I don't really read much fanfics to begin, so I might have missed a lot of good ones... ). Overall, I'd give it a 9/10.

It's basically a historical romance/adventure wherein Inuyasha is the emperor of Japan (it's not as scary as it seems ) and Kagome is a commoner who is asked to go to his court in order to hone her miko powers and be of some service there. Along their journey in the story, they encounter many different osbtacles, from developing feelings for one another when Inuyasha is betrothed to Kikyo, who is of another noble family, and wants to stay by her side out of guilt and the desire to make her happy (where have we seen that before? ) to someone (people who are familiar with the franchise, guess who? ) trying to attack and overthrow the current court. The story is ongoing, but according to the author, it's entered its home stretch, so it should be completed by the next year or two (I know it seems like a long time, but that person takes an eternity to update her stories...she promised at least one more chapter by the end of the year though, when she updated really recently... I should point out, though, that it doesn't matter how long it takes for the updates, since each of her chapters are extremely long... it's not like you're left with very little when reading it, so it's more than enough until the next update...).

Ummm... I can't really post up a link to the story because it's M-rated. Before I get in trouble for this, I should point out that so far, there's been nothing inappropriate in the story. Naturally, considering that it's an "InuYasha" story, there's gonna be some violence and not-so-pleasant moments with demons (but then again, they were perfectly innocuous in the series). There are very slight hints at sexuality as well, but nothing that exceeds the PG-13 level...yet. In that regard, I have no idea where the author intends to take that story, but I suspect that she won't write of anything more than kissing, but I could be wrong. There's also a bit of the angst/emotional factor incorporated into the story as well, but it's nothing intolerable. Overall, like I said, the content isn't any worse than what is portrayed in the actual show...yet. Probably, the rating is more for the mature and heavier atmosphere than anything else. However, despite not providing a link to the story, it should be easy to track down on the website, since it's the only story with that name. (There, this disclaimer should save me from trouble... )
