Japanese cartoons in a nutshell: the girls have big breasts, and the men are afraid of them.

In response to the encore, lemme just say a few things. Shinji being slow to the pickup is one thing. But how, after all that time, does Ganta only later pick up the fact that he's got the wrong guy? He's magic, was it really so farfetched that other people besides him and the Red Guy could be magic too? If it had been me, if I had got Branches Disease and I was looking for the Red Guy, I like to think I would've put it together that Shinji wasn't the one. Going just by his powers and his smile? Not exactly the best detective work. So in addition to not being very strong, Ganta also isn't very smart.
Also, when Shiro bodyhugged Shinji, I think, for that one moment, to punctuate his homosexual fear of women and their sex parts, that Shiro's tiny tetons got a little bigger. Just enough to hang off of him. Because those aren't normally much to write home about. Once she got off of him, they went back to normal. And he was all "OMG ur jiglin 'round D=" seriously? Not a lot of gelatin to jiggle, sir. You must be shroomin' me. The whole thing seemed contrived and forced. I'm thinking Shinji will also annoy me like Shiro.
Finally, with Shinji and his Branches Disease that Deadguys get, can we expect a lot of... "sickle" cell jokes? ![]()

I kinda got ninja'd, I mentioned this in my other post. Shiro's front battery is small. They got bigger just for that gag scene. It was hit and miss, I think. I was one of the Mrs. ![]()

Mine is an '03 or '04 model, so it's a little better, but the darker scenes of the first half were a bit tough to see without turning off the lights.

One truism of breasts is they're constantly under the effects of gravity. When they hang down, as they would if a woman is kneeling and bent over like Shiro was, they appear bigger.

So I wasn't the only one who thought of that. XD
Great episode, slightly disturbing ending, but overall great. Next week's gonna be awesome, looks like Ganta's gonna fight Crow. Should be great. 8)

Another great episode. This show has been the main thing getting me to come back to Toonami every week. Can't wait to see it every week.

After eyeing a few of these episodes (I've been keeping the TV running on Adult Swim while I ganer so I don't miss Casshern), I made a realization of someone after I took a look at who drew the manga. Lo and behold, this is literally a crappier version of Eureka 7. We have the same special girl with incredible powers (Shiro/Eureka), and the whiny loud mouth boy that tries to be a hero and generally gets in a lot of trouble (Ganta/Renton).
The major difference in these two cases is the fact Renton goes seeking the Gecko State, the kid here is forced into the Deadman Wonderland. And when I mean forced, I mean he's stripped of all rights, they ditch any and all evidence of the "Red Man" (that or none is left behind magically, lolololol). Eureka was more of a Robot who gets better by slowly blossoming out, both with Renton's help, and the help of the war orphans, this girl is just batshart crazy and seems protective of Ganta, for whatever reason.
Ganta, meanwhile, is whiny, snively, can't do the goddamn job (kill/beat foes), and is generally a brat. Watching him is genuinely depressing me. Seriously, watching his totalarian situation literally drains me. Renton meanwhile had a chance, got a magic robot that #### at the start, but unlocked it's powers with his and Eureka's help. He was also very charismatic, and grew up by being forced to do crap jobs and getting slapped for being a punk. Ganta is just... listening to him makes my ears hurt, and watching his entire super grimdark scenario reminded me of just how terrible Japan is now at being able to tell a story, and why I quit watching anime and reading manga in the first place.
Then again, take my input with a grain of salt. I became an anime fan back when Ranma 1/2, Record of Lodoss Wars, The Slayers, Patlabor, City Hunter, Gunsmith Cats, etc, were all the big names in anime. They all seemed to have a lot of fun with what they were doing, and they all made sure there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Things could go either way, and it was interesting to watch just which way the hammer fell. This new generation is just... ugh... it's so dark, and forced, and out of ideas, and it feels like you're just waiting for the ending where Rocks Fall Everyone Dies. And you wouldn't even feel anything after that.

It's a story about a guy and his friends who came straight out of 4chan. Before it got all gentrified thanks to Scientology protests, LOLCats, and Reddit. Actually, from before 4chan even existed. They were scum of the earth before it was cool to make fun of hipsters. They called themselves Goons or something and they went around committing acts of violence and burglary and rape.
But the Clockwork Orange comparison comes from when Ganta had his eyelids pryed open and was forced to watch that commercial for... uhhhh... whaddaya call it, that Deadguys tournament. During Clockwork Orange, the movie version, the main character, I forget his name, is made into a good person, but they do it by forcing his eyelids open and making him watch this thing.

The tournament is called "Carnival Corpse". Although to be fair I think "Corpse Carnival" would have made a lot more sense!
And I really don't know why you insist on calling Deadman Wonderland "Deadguys". I don't get it. Guys are like 90% of a man; they've only got about 50% of the confidence. These "Deadmen" are so confident they're often cocky with the exception of Ganta. (These Deadmen have codenames of birds, and being cocky would come natural to a male bird, now that I think about it.)
I'm glad you don't come stumbling into the Casshern thread and try to tear HIM a new ass! Because you'd totally fail because it would just heal back up again! ![]()
