Let me first say that I have no problem with this show and I really like it. But I could see it being to effed up for people. So whats your opinion do you like it and do you think others will latch onto it?

It's right up my alley. I watch stuff like this all the time. I enjoy it.

For other people, I don't know. They may like it and latch on to it. I hope they do. Because I enjoyed it.

The brutality isn't an issue for me.

It's like, okay, when that one prisoner was all like "How big r ur tatties?" I was all like "Ahahaha, this show is trying to be one of those gritty shows, like Quentin Tarantino or something, except it doesn't totally gel." And then Shiro shows up, and then he has magic ball catching powers, and then the warden is all "Life's a bitch" all flippantly and I'm like, what kind of show is this supposed to be? It's not firing on any cylinders for me.

The show's not too brutal, although there was a lot of messed up crap in it, but I don't think it's very... good. I know, a lot of people like this show, and if you do, you do, but it just seemed like it was trying so hard to be dark and disturbing, which at some times it was, but I just didn't enjoy watching it. That might be the one part of Toonami I skip, (although keep my tv on) during the block.

I loved it. I was drinking with my brother and friend and they're not into anime, but this kept them somewhat interested with it's brutal style. The jokes were right up thier alley. It made for an awesome sitting. There was even fan service with that....nude girl? Some of her positions were some what suggestive. We all had comments to say, anime fan or non. Awesome stuff.

I thought it would be more violent. Maybe the massacre scene was darkened to cut out the gore, but other than that, it wasn't that bad.

And would it be okay to call Ganta's trial Kafkaesque?

Honestly, it made me uncomfortable in that I felt like I was watching a train colliding with another train and i was helpless to do anything.  But ........ I guess that's the point?????? Kinda????    I'm on the fence about this show.

the story for this show really fleshes out when it gets to the 3rd or 4th episode, when it shows everything that is going on behind the scenes. ^^

I liked it and I think anime fans will like it, especially since it got generally positive reviews, but I don't think it's going to appeal to the general audience. So this show is pretty much relying on anime fans and Toonami's success in order for it to get a big following once the series is done.

I could probably see teachers not being a fan of the first episode??? But I went from watching stuff like DBZ and Trigun straight into Berserk (actually saw the last episode first) and Elfen Lied so I'm past my shock and awe moment. If its too brutal for you I hear theres a new season of Pokemon coming out soon?

Are you kidding, loads of people live for violence. It's a fact of life and it draws attention if people can't accept that than they are denying reality.

It's not too brutal for me, I just don't like it.  There's violence for a purpose, and there's violence just for the sake of violence.  Same for profanity.  It's that aspect I'm not fond of.

Also, the uter silliness of the violence.  Giant cartoonish animals wielding bows/arrows?

Superjail never tries to take itself seriously, this does, and fails miserably.

I can't deny that it is dark and brutal, but that's one of the aspects that i really liked about.
