Well, one of these days when I get around to watching Cowboy Bebop (I do plan to...someday), I'll go back and read these. I have a semi-professional interest in writing. Not that I've ever written anything I wanted to publish, but I was told by someone, who I consider to be a decent-enough authority on such things, that I should get into writing as a career.
Well, I bet you can guess my view on films versus the book it was based on. For your first entry, I'd pick something short. You need to kind of get used to his writing style. I'd suggest, "The Rats in the Walls". It's a very short story (10ish pages, depending on the book). A link to the story can be found here. You can also use the website to read everything else he wrote. But I'd suggest going to your local library and seeing what they have. Nothing beats reading Lovecraft by a real book simply by lamp light with no other lights on.
